Morning gents.

While we are on medical conditions, I'm wondering if anyone has a remedy for muscle twitches. My right bicep started twitching about 20 hours ago. I have had these infrequently before (eyelid, arm or leg) but they usually go away within an hour or so. Google said could be electrolytes, dehydration, or about a hundred other things.

Sleep study done last night. Surprisingly, I actually slept... not surprisingly I slept as fitfully as I usually do. Tech said my doctor would receive the results in 7-10 days, but in his opinion I have a mild to moderate case of sleep apnea.

When I sleep on my back (which is my favored way to sleep) I snore a bit and I stop breathing on occasion, which makes me wake up and roll to my side. Which is better, because he said it doesn't affect me when I am on either side.

Dammit. I really do not want to sleep with a fkn mask.

I just got the same diagnosis, waiting for a machine, like everything else, they are on backorder.

How did they do the study, I was mailed a ring that worked with a phone app. Wore the ring for two nights, the app recorded the results and uploaded them to the doc, then returned the ring by UPS.

I've known I have sleep apnea for years.

Last year wife gave me a smartwatch for christmas. It confirmed my sleep apnea is pretty severe. Returned the watch cause it's annoying to have to charge your watch every 12 hours, and did nothing more with the information I learned from it.

I should get a sleep study and a cpap but it's a lot of money and I don't know that I'd be able to wear one. I move around a lot in my sleep. Often all the blankets will be wrapped around me from rolling. Several times I've fallen asleep with my charging phone in the bed and woke up with the cord around my neck. cpap hose would do the same

I know several people that got a CPAP or APAP machine and they all said it made a huge positive change in their life. One guy would nod off while speaking to agroup of people, I would not have beleieved it if I wasn't there.

I've been using a cpap for years. It did suck initially between cost and having this weird contraption stuck to your face. It did help tremendously almost immediately in being better rested and eliminating snoring. I used to snore in any position no matter what method of snore resistance (strips and such) was used. The only relief Mrs Beach got was the half a dozen times a night I'd just stop breathing. There's a possibility you might not toss so much if you were in a deeper sleep

I just got the same diagnosis, waiting for a machine, like everything else, they are on backorder.

How did they do the study, I was mailed a ring that worked with a phone app. Wore the ring for two nights, the app recorded the results and uploaded them to the doc, then returned the ring by UPS.

Tricare Doc did a referral to an outside sleep study center. They called me right away and scheduled it for last night.

Told me to bring PJ's and my own pillow (for comfort, or I could use theirs). Showed up at 8:30pm, tech brought me to a room, put all kinds of sensors on my legs, chest, face, head, and then stuck one of those dual tube thingies in my nose. I was thinking to myself... man, I ain't gonna sleep a wink.

Started reading the kindle and about 20 minutes later I was out. He woke me up one time during the night when I rolled over and undid one of the sensors. Next thing I knew it was 0500 and it was over.

My fitbit inspire 3 shows that my O2 levels do change a bit while I am sleeping, but they stay within the range set (at least on the fitbit). A few times a night it does get pretty damn close to the "high" range. High meaning a drastic change in O2 level, which would indicate sleep apnea.

Meh... oh well.

Thank heaven winter is over and we survived. It's still a very chilly high of only 74 today but we have a warming trend that will get us only to the low 80's later this week. Stock up on bread and milk everybody!
