I hear ya, and don't disagree with your reasoning. Just having trouble accepting the 90s was 30yrs ago. It doesn't feel like 30yrs ago

Morning, peoples

Good for you Bucky.

No such thing as a bad interview. I think of them as opportunities. You'll know where you fit when you see and hear it.

I already like the fact that you're discerning a pigeonholed position and not willing to settle. I've had the misfortune to displace technology and employees with newer technology. 317x controllers for switches and routers (really started with brouters that's how old to the "game" I am!) and saw firsthand how being unwilling to stay current with industry trends and unwilling to learn new technology paints people into corners. Sometimes it parlays into a money making opportunity and old tech stays alive only due to those people (see check sorting and data processing) and their functionality. That seemed like a small time shop and like you already know...as soon as you completed all the tasks you'd end up walking the plank because that ship is a dingy with room for one and he ain't sailing. He's staying on the docks. Milking it for all he can. Because.

See these types as experience to hone the interview process. Gleam the insight into what it is that made them interested in you. Have some sort of "proof" to bring to the table that outlines your abilities and know-how. Always be courteous and well mannered as you never know in this world of mergers and acquisitions you might be talking to a new senior partner or your new teammate. Knife cuts both ways. I always try to research the company I'm interviewing with as well. Who are they, how long they've been in business and ways my background and their business mesh and how I can flourish in that environment. Be willing to keep up with the next big thing that evolves your own position and be ready to switch surfboards.

I'm also proud of you for not settling on the first opportunity that comes a calling. Until you're making that cheddah...you're a man on a mission.

Good luck. Onward and upward!

PSA Don't shop at Shop Rite on senior day and when they have a can can sale. 🤦
Just got back after watching the peeps loading up 3-4 cases of can goods, as well as 3-4 cases of Progresso Soup in shopping carts and my favorite the peeps riding around on the little shopping vehicles. BLOCKING THE ISLE & HOGGING THE SOUP AREA. 😣 😣

Little known fact, at least in my area, all the Shop Rites have humidified cases and a fair selection of cigars. Very good prices as well and quite a bit cheaper than my local B&M's

Morning folks. Gonna be about 65 today. We picked the last of the lemons off the broken branches yesterday and the wifey juiced about two gallons and sliced another 20 lemons that will be frozen and used for summer drinks. The juice will be poured into ice cube trays and frozen also for lemonade and other drinks in the summer. The other half of the tree still has maybe 200 and will be picked later.

Going to need to somehow protect the south face of the tree from getting sun burnt now that it has no shade on that side.

Hello guys...been MIA for a bit...continuing to deal with issues around my older sister's health (she has a permanent room at the local ER) and living environment...I won't violate her HIPPA rights, but she is in a downward spiral and will need a higher standard of care soon...

so...now 8track is playing with trannies too??? You should exchange notes with Danm...he's got plenty of experience with them...

wtf happened to our dear ol DMV??? the kinder, gentler, caring dude who's masquerading as him doesn't fool us one bit...

Haven't noticed any cigar counters at Shop Rite near here, but I rarely go there to shop. Yesterday was one of those times and the Can_Can was on and the store was more crowded than usual.

Rain mixed with snow motivated me to do another 4 hours at the shpo. Uneventful and home by noon for snow and ice removal along with a dog walk.

A mini nap followed by BLTs.

I smoked a cigar in the garage with a couple beers and some tunes.

Wife and dog even joined me... I put the patio chairs and a dog bed out there.
