raining here again...making it hard to go out for my daily walks...I need to man up and break out the rain gear...

When we went to Japan in 2017, it rained for the bulk of our trip. We went to Disneyland on our 3rd day so bought a poncho. Wore it all day and then again when we went to Universal Studios in Osaka a few days later. Haven’t used it since…should I send it to you? 🤔

Uconn women return to playing basketball tomorrow night as they now have the minimum of 7 active scholastic players available. Sunday's postponed game has been rescheduled for January 23.
They are now ranked no. 4 in the country and will be playing 14-1 St. John's in New York which was ranked 24th last week prior to their first loss of the season.

I always sleep the best on my last day of my work week. The day I don't want to sleep well and wish I woke up at noon. But every week I go to bed early thinking I'll wake up early. Today I drank a big glass of water before bed at 9am so I'd wake up to pee. Woke up at 5pm to pee...

Dr appt tomorrow morning for my annual visit so I can get told about how I keep getting fatter and argue with him about taking cholesterol meds.

Called HVAC guy for a new furnace too. Mine's gonna fail again pretty soon. I screwed up when I replaced the blower motor last year and bent the squirrel cage slightly - had a mild vibration for several months that turned into a much more pronounced vibration and now it's a violent shaking and I had to add zip ties to hold the motor in its mount because it would slide side to side and the cage would hit the shroud. Yesterday I went to lube the motor shaft to try to buy some more time and the motor was so hot the oil smoked, so the bearings are cooked and doesn't have much time left. Doesn't spin at rated speed, so if it runs too long the high limit switch trips. It's just time for a new one. When I rebuilt the house he put in a cheap mobile home furnace he sold me cheap - I didn't have money for better stuff so I used a used air conditioner and the mobile home furnace that only had a 5 year warranty.

Getting out there initially is toughest part. Once you are sloshing around, it doesn't really matter any more. Different sounds and smells in the rain as well.

Been pretty religious with the morning dog walks each day... around 6-7k steps to start the day. 50-60 minutes.

As Tank gets older I don't think he'll be as demanding, though. 🌫

Double egg sandwich, grated 4 year old cheddar, with Italian seasoning and hot sauce.

32 degrees. Mix of rain, sleet and snow this morning.

Sipping coffee while drawing up a strategy for the most opportune time for the dog walk.

Cigar with a friend in the early afternoon. Dinner with a friend early evening.
