haha, no I don't or ever had a MR2, just a failed attempt at being funny...

This is my old account... I wansn't active on the forums here at all. I spent my forum time on a couple other forums. I really just bought cigars here.

....and um.... about that pronoun nonsense... I'm a him, and I refuse to cater to that asinine train of thought.

My dad had one when he was a young hotrodder. All I hear from all his friends is that was the fastest car in town.

yup...I was a Mopar guy...had a '70 Road Runner with stock 383...didn't have the money or skills to make it go fast...barely able to buy gas

there were guys in high school who had both...66 Malibu SS396, 68 GTO, 69 Cuda, 69 Chevelle SS, 70 Duster, 70 SuperBee...several Mustangs...but the real head turner was the neon green 69 Charger Daytona with the tall rear wing...it sounded and looked fast

So with the hood pins / locks, you could get an additional 70 horses more? [gonzo]

HP is a bunch of BS. If I hooked 500 horses up to my diesel truck they would drag me all over the place. 😂

today's EV's would smoke all those muscle cars from 60's - 70's... without making your ears bleed

True, but that's not saying much since a Chrysler Pacifica minivan has a better 0-60 time than a '70 Mustang Mach 1, '69 Corvette, a Lotus Esprit S1, and a Ferrari 308 GTB

And I agree, HP has always been an odd unit of measure IMO. Power equal to one horse. Is that a Clydesdale or an Icelandic Fjord Horse? You can't tell me they have the same output

Yup, those EVs are wicked fast but the sounds, smells and rumble of those old gas eaters at the tracks made your heart race (…no pun intended…) like nothing else.

I don’t understand horsepower or ratings in general. Example. 400 hp car hooked to 360 hp truck tractor. (Tractor trailer without a trailer) I could pull the car backwards on idle…. Without even using any of the throttle. I can’t wrap my head around it. Torque blah blah blah…

Physics voodoo. We didn't cover that in any of my Lit classes
