the fact is, folks have been warning of that levee system for 15 years or more. It was a scenario that homeland security even "wargamed" for. It was one of the three big tragedy's that we were not prepared for, but speculated would happen.

Unfortunately, most of us are just now learning about it......we think we were caught by surprise.....we weren't. We KNEW that this would happen.

i saw stories last night of med evac choppers taking away children.. small sick babies...women with those children....WELL BEFORE THE STORM HIT!! you can GUARENTEE.. SOMETHING WAS DONE for those that wanted to be helped FIRST AND FORMOST!!!

Every leader in state and local govt.of LA. for the past 20 - 40 years have known that the levees would only be able to handle a catagory 3 hurricane. Yet nothing was done about this situation.

Many people say things would have happened earlier if new orleans was filled with white people rather than black." I refuse to say african american".

Leaders in LA. govt. blame the federal govt. for not interceding before they did.

Leaders in federal govt.blame state and local govt.

for not heading the warnings and doing more to get the elderly and infirmed out of harms way.

The elderly and infirmed are just plain pissed off and decimated.
