Harvested backyard rootings transplanted from our front yard, which we had stored for replanting in the front yard this weekend. After. I sprayed Round-Up to kill all the weeds and then had mulch laid down. About 2/3 done with the replanting with another hour or so to go tomorrow.

If I were the king of the world for one day, one of my decrees would be to establish a uniform set of lids and bottoms for all tuperware type of food storage units. No negotiation, put everyone in a room and lock the door until a standard is settled on.. all lids and bottoms will fit all other lids and bottoms. I don't care if you are Tuperware, Gladware, McCormic, Rubbermaid... Ziplock... or any other random injection molding company... a standard has to be set dammit!

Son's car' hood latch cable broke on his car. Gives us a good reason to pay a visit to a good a friend of mine, Burt.

Burt has a barn behind his house where he has some of the most awesomest tools. Couple CNC lathes, a couple CNC Bridgeports, TIG, MIG welding and a plasma torch to cut $hit. Has an over head crane if need to move heavy $hit. He has cars in his barn that have not seen the light of day for 20+ years. He's a Chevy fan so there is an old Corvette (60's ?) under a tarp and also has an old Fiero collecting dust. He probably has a model T squirreled somewhere.

Last time I was there he was rebuilding a couple hit and miss engines as a project with the Cub Scouts. How do these thing work?

It's always fun to spend a day with him. He's probably one of the smartest and the most practical person that I've met. He doesn't have an official engineering degree but the guy can design and machine anything from clock tower gears (he rebuilt the inner workings of a clock tower in a neighboring town) to repairing farm implements.

Morning y'all. After the wettest winter in something like 20 years the Sonoran desert is busting out in wild flowers so we are taking our out-of-towners out for a hike this morning in the preserve. Wifey and I usually plan for 6-7 miles when we hike but I'm pretty sure these folks think that is a week's worth of walking so we will plan accordingly.

May hit the gym later.

Up Nort’ yesterday was successful. Bought a cool bench/table from a fence line neighbor to put the humidor on. Getting too old and achy to crawl around on the floor to peer into it. 🌫
