My heart goes out to you 8Track...hoping for the best possible outcomes for Mom and Dad.

I'm helping my sister through her end of years health crises...luckily we found a residential care facility that has a limit of 6 residents and two very patient, competent and thoughtful employee/caregivers. The owner of the facility is an LVN and has helped advise us and monitor my sister's condition. They have experience in hospice care so this will be Big Sister's last home and she's happy with it. The monthly cost is a little less than what she paid at the assisted living facility that she left. Fortunately, she has a defined benefit pension and lifetime healthcare insurance with Kaiser from her past employment and life savings to deal with all existing and hopefully, future costs.

The positive side of all this is that I am now closer to my sister than we have been all of our lives to this point; she and I were never close. I have learned that she led a remarkable and active life. We have had many conversations that we probably wouldn't have had...

Just took my bestest girl out for a steak dinner to celebrate 32 years and now home enjoying a Caymus Cab from 2006.
