Answer to the first statement: I will take that as advice and will do my best to listen to my parents and others. It still doesn't wash away the feelings inside that I feel: not available to be there.
Answer to the next question: Yes he had to go pee and fell getting out of bed and did a face plant. Luckily is wasn't serious but the ambulance guys had to help him up to walk. Sounds morbid but I think it was a wake up for him that he needs to use the walker that he refused to use before.
Sadly, I think my Dad is on his way out in the coming year. I think he's cashing in his chips as his body breaks down which irritates me. "Dad, don't punt keep going."
Easy for me to say. I, personally, have not accepted it but I can't control it. That's on me.
On a positive note: I think I'll make some chicken parmesan for dinner tomorrow. I'll make enough for a couple servings of leftovers for lunch this week. It's nearly impossible for me to cook for one or two people. It's not in my DNA. Four people plus leftovers is typical serving size.
