I'm thawing out some pork belly... cube it up, salt/pepper and then in they go tomorrow.

This puppy is also a dehydrator. Gonna have to find a good beef jerky recipe and test out that feature.

Nope... it's a Gourmia 7qt and I got it from Costco. In store it was $39.99.

Ding, dang Daisy!

I told the wife it'd probably be 5k to convert the lanai to a sunroom... she says, no way it'll be 10k. She was right.

$10,832 in fact... but I did a little finagling and haggling, and got discounts and such... 8k total, including all permitting and inspection. *big sigh*

Still more than I wanna pay. 🤦

Ah, maaaan. Why would you want to do that? Was looking forward to that lania thing. Why?

haha, well played indeed.

Fire seems to have sparked back up, the awful smell/smoke is back.

You can still get the full effect of the "lanai thing". It'll have 6' tall windows that open side to side, from either side... with screens.

The "why" is because the weather is so hot and humid that the lanai is useless half the year or more. This way I can use it year round. When it's hot, I fire up the AC. If it's cool enough, I open the windows.

4-6 months before it actually gets done. Sooner if they can, but I won't hold my breath.

Bought a new printer and trying to set it up on my home network. It's an HP OfficeJet All-In-One. Still have a OfficeJet All-in-One 5200 series that I haven't had many issues with it other then scanning and copying using the feed loader thingy lately. One of the wheels to feed the documents slips a bit so the copies and scans are kinda tilted. So, since my other HP didn't give me much problems over the years, I bought a new one of their more modern version.

Franking the HP web site sucks!

They push you to signup with them and make an account with them. I just want the drivers dammit! It took me a few tries and searching their stie just to download the drivers and stuff without all the BS stuff. It's like being on the phone trying to talk with a human or something "press 1 for this, press 2 for that.." but you have to jump online hoops just to find the pure drivers for it without all the crap they want to install.

Rant over.

Bucky, years ago I had to take a professional time-out where I couldn't do my usual, so I did remote consumer tech support. Half my day was spent installing, uninstalling, and fixing HP printers. The HP software was the worst... impossible to work with.

Glad you conquered it.

I spent 23 years selling HP large-format inkjet plotters / printers and thank goodness I always had a tech or IT person install and train on the print drivers. Luckily HP held the vast majority of the market share so customers were used to the quarks. For home use, I’ve been an Epson fan for over 25 years.

Got a Brother laser printer/copier/scanner thingy from Amazon. Been working like an absolute champ since I got it. I can print to it from my phone if I need to... Was around $100 in 2019.

But I looked and it's twice the price it was when I bought it. Still not bad at $220.

Our lanai is about 17 and wide and deep with an additional overhang so it gets little direct sun. We use it form time to time during the summer and daily about 8-9 months a year. Worthy expense!

I probably have the same model from Costco. Reliable as hell. Just too noisy, but I found a setting that quiets it down, but makes it just a little slower.

When I had my office, everyone had an HP laser printer on their desk and we had a huge, multi-tray Dell copy/scan/print/fax that lasted a good five years with a 3 year warranty. It was so inexpensive it wasn't worth fixing compared to a the price of a new one. Great deal!

86F/73F 90%RH- with a good chance of 60s at nighttime- later this week.

At the Honda dealership for oil change, rotation, balance, air filter, wipers, brake fluid drain and alignment. Gonna be over $400. Ouch!!!

Dumpster for bathroom remodel gets delivered to our driveway today. Demolition tomorrow and Friday. Ordered the tile, tub and fixtures, all in stock locally. Could be done by end of next week, but I bet it takes a couple days longer.

Nothing else on today's agenda, but a zoom business call tonight.

Dealership rapes you on those air filter installs (engine/cabin). Super easy to do yourself, takes ten minutes, saves a couple hundred... Lots of youtube videos to walk you through the three or four steps.

A nice 64 for the morning walk. Amazing how cool 64 feels when the RH is low.
