8 yesterday was my hammock chair and sail shade takedown day. Did put out the patio heater by the firepit.

Still have a lot of wood to split before winter but it's raining today.

Bad news- had an afib last night and this morning. At the extremes, a low of 32 and a high of 181 bpm.
In better news, we got some new furnature in the basement.
Fits and looks great.

Let's hope we get a resolution to my brother's ailment sooner rather than later. 🙏

Took my hearing aids on the night stand the other after falling asleep with them. Woke up and couldn't find one. Tore bed and nightstand apart. Looked everywhere it could have dropped if I accidental left it half-way in my ear and got up without knowing and it fell off. Gave up after two days. Buying a new pair Tuesday afternoon at Costco- if I don't find it by then. It's like 3.5 years old, so at least II got it's life out of it. New pair comes with a loss warranty for the next two years and are much more technologically up to date. Chit happens.

Bathroom rehab is underway. They scheduled two days for tear-out with the expectation of a lot of rotten/moldy wood, but there was very little to none,. Only took one day, which our contractor said would lower his price quite a bit. Tile is ordered and comes in a couple days, if not already in. Fixtures are already here. Bathtub comes Wednesday. Contractor needs plumber to come in and possibly a dry-wall person, but the project **might** still be finished by next Friday- if everything comes together. If not, a few days into the next week and that's it!

Looking forward to the 40th reunion in Gainesville, FL with the guys I pledged my fraternity (TEP) with. We were all very tight, but haven't seen each other (everyone is all across the country) for like 20 years, so it should be a lot of fun doing the things college students do at like 60yrs. old, as opposed to 21yrs. or younger. Dinner Friday at a fine steakhouse (Shula's) . Nice hotel. Cigar bar after dinner. Hanging out the rest of the weekend and going to all the places and restaurants we used to eat at- if they are still there...

One of my buddies was 100% on track to medical school through the very end and wanted to be a neuro-surgeon, Almost perfect grades. Even got into UF medical school. But, he took a year off and then decided to get a PhD. in Marine Biology instead- I am bummed because I was so sure he would use his brilliance and skill differently, but that was his choice and I respect it. He would have been amazingly good. Another I am close with is an eye surgeon. And, yet another got a phd in Pharmacy and then went on to medical school and is a Critical Care Specialists. And, then there are several others who are other types of docs. I was one of the dumb ones who became a lawyer.

There are several other lawyers and then most everyone else got degrees in accounting, finance or economics. Another, is VP of Production for FOX. Really nice group of guys, several of whom are still very good friends - 40 years later. Can't wait until the 20th!

Gonna jump on the vherf tonight to watch the MMA Fights on Prime at 8pm ET. Everyone is welcome to join us.

Made more hot sauce today. I thought all the peppers got dug up from the garden but wife said there was still one habanero plant but all the peppers were still green. No matter, made a habanero tomatillo sauce. Turned out fantastic.

I miss having a garden. Hopefully next spring I can start another one.

On a completely unrelated note, the kid got a job a part time Walmart job and they work around his college classes. A selfish bonus is I can place an online order and he'll bring it home. Free delivery. Prolly do some tacos tomorrow for lunch. Maybe some steak tips on Sunday and do some chicken tortilla soup in the crock pot. Freeze some single serving sizes and thaw them out to take for lunches and stuff. It's been many months since I did a batch of chicken tortilla soup, It always turns out yummy.

Bought a battery powered snow thrower/shovel thingy off of Amazon for those days that it snows but doesn't snow enough to fire up the big snowblower. Has 4.8 stars and good reviews on Amazon and elsewhere so I bought it new for like $95. Claims to clear up to 6 inches of snow, can run up to over an hour between charges and moves up to 300 lbs of snow per minute depending on the weight of the snow (yeah, we'll see). Light fluffy stuff, it is probably true. Wet and heavy stuff, probably not true.

Just something to use rather than shoveling off the deck, sidewalk and stairs. I'm too old for that $hit and I don't want to blow out my back again nor my kids' backs. Work smarter, not harder. It's battery powered so we don't have to drag a cord around or gas it up.

Just out of curiosity I looked at it again on the web. The price was jacked up to about $200 or more on Amazon, Home Depot, Loews. Unintentionally I bought it before they jacked up the price to double for what I bought it for. Timing is everything but nobody can predict the future.
