Predictions are that North FL sees some sub freezing temps this winter. Was 57 on the dog walk this morning.

I needed a light jacket!

The family went to synagogue this morning to dance with the Torah for the Jewish holiday of Simcah Torah. I know there are lots of people in Israel right now who wanted to celebrate but couldn't, so we tried to celebrate for them. Plus, who doesn't want to drink bourbon with their Rabbi at 10 AM on a Sunday?

Fu@king no hot water. It was working this morning but later in the afternoon... no hot water. Hot water and stove are both fired by natural gas. Stove works so it's not a gas issue. Must be something wrong with the hot water heater. At first I thought the pilot light went out but nope, no pilot light light or no smell of gas leak (whew at least there is no gas leak). Something wrong with the burner.

Fix it guy says it needs a replacement part of some sort but since it's Sunday he can't get the part to fix it until tomorrow.

Looks like I'll be taking a cold shower tonight.

Sunday Sunday Sunday

Mowed the lawn, went to the fire station's open house and rode on a firetruck, looked at UCAN's helicopter they landed on site. Picked up and burned another pile of sticks.

Tomorrow a well drilling/repair company is coming out to look at my well. I don't know what the issue is. Pressure drops, pressure switch contactor closes, but the motor doesn't kick on until after pressure is at zero. Doesn't draw power until it's on either. Even though the pressure switch bench tested fine I replaced it since the one that was in there is 15+ years old. Didn't change anything. Once the motor does start up it holds steady 10a and only creeps to 11a as it approaches the 60psi cutout pressure. I suspect they're going to just change out the pump. I've never done one or seen one done I'm too scared of screwing up and my 10 day California trip is in a week I don't need to leave wife n boy home without water.

Dodgers have to recover quickly from their beatdown yesterday and hope their rookie pitcher Bobby Miller can save them after their HOF vet Kershaw flamed out in the playoffs -- again...

it reminded me of the playoffs a few years ago when I was with Whistle and Palama at Casa Fuente in Las Vegas...shocking meltdown...

I know nearly nothing about my well other than a lab report on the water quality. I have figured out some general ideas - it was relocated sometime between 1988 and 2007 because there's an old well shaft in the garage down in a 6ft concrete pit and the garage was added on in 88. House was abandoned in 07. Pump is submersible 110v and pulls 10a so I'd guess the well is less than 200ft. That pump has been there since at least 07 as well since I've not replaced it.

With a submersible pump at least. You are correct in letting the well company pull out the pump. Would take more than you to try and pull it out. Good luck and keep us updated.
