On the plus side, there were no customers with me on that run.

speaking of suits, button up shirts and long pants, my wife said I should go through our closets and gather up stuff I prolly wont wear, or need, anymore since we're both retired and have very little occasion to wear dressy clothes, especially here in laid back SoCal...she had a few bags of donations gathered up already and wanted me to make a run to the Salvation Army donation truck.

Obediently, I gathered up some things to donate and to clear out some room in the closet, hopefully not to be re-filled. I picked out one plaid sport jacket, one nearly new Adidas pullover rain hoody, one long sleeve pull over Henley sweatshirt, four long sleeve dress shirts, three long sleeve casual shirts, 5 short sleeve button up shirts and 2 Hawaiian short sleeve shirts...hope somebody can use them...

nowadays I'm usually in shorts and T-shirts or tank tops...in the cold season, I wear sweat pants and t-shirts or long sleeved Ts...always wear step in slider around the house or light weight athletic shoes when out and about or walking shoes when out for long walks...

Up and out into 68 going to 96 and sunny of course.

Wife and I are headed up to the white mountains of northern AZ tomorrow for a little leaf peeping and to visit with some old friends. Also have a hike planned for Mt Baldy which is 11,400 ft at the top.

I got rid of seven suits and like three sport coats and pants (a.k.a. my "costumes") when I retired. Went out and bought one new suit just so it wasn't "tainted" by my career, so to speak...

I forgot about ties, I do not like wearing them and I still have a bunch from those day past. The last time I wore one was for my Mother's funeral service. More stuff to throw out.

Good Wednesday Morning to All! It's 47° on the way to 71° today.

We attended a High School ring ceremony for one of our Granddaughters last night. I had never heard of such a thing, it was probably marketing from the ring makers. That said, the students got to, more or less, design their rings and it turned out great, the best HS class ring I've ever seen. In addition to being the top student in her magnet HS, she is artistically talented.

Waiting for the tile crew to arrive and it is almost 10am.

These guys and the other tradesman doing our shower and bath, work "bankers hours: at best.

Unbelievable to me.

It's like they are skipping a full day of work/week (5 days x 6-7 hours per week = 30-35 hours.

Jeez, I worked around 60 hours per week for many, many years.

The start of a five week dog sitting stretch has begun. A greyhound we know who’s mom who had shoulder surgery. He’s a Goliath, weighing about 20 pounds more than Kuba. He’s a big, sweet, if not entirely smart gentle soul. When he takes a dump, it reminds me of what DMV likely has to pick up each day with his Danes.

I have a bit over 5 acres. It's all fenced in and the wildlife enclosures all have barrier fences. If somebody steps in their business...we have a hose, but look where you're walking because it's their home. Big dogs...big landmines! Now, back to momma Lilly...we ended up with 6 total and upon further inspection it's 4 females, and 2 males...all doing great and she's stepped into the momma role like I knew she would. She's been a great dog, and she goes outside to go to the bathroom and stretch her legs but when she's out she always looks back at the house and wants to be by my side.

Lilly sounds like a great dog.

It's gonna be 96 today after 63 overnight. Couple more days of this mini heat wave and then cooling down to low 70's by Sun...possible rain Tue...gotta remember to cover the patio furniture...that has worked to stave off rain the last couple forecasts...

I can’t speak for all contractors but iffin’ they’re known to do good or at least decent work, then most of them have multiple projects in various stages so they sometimes go to one, do work that needs to be done then leave for another site. Sometimes it’s a matter of letting things dry or they can’t proceed to the next stage without another contractor doing their portion first.

And I know what you’re saying about “banker’s hours” but I look at it this way, they have skills / knowledge that I don’t have and I’d rather have them do the work than me tackling it and taking 3 times as long to do…or worst yet, do a shoddy job that should have been left to professionals.
