I'd get a second opinion on the reversal thing. Do the replacement instead. Research... 😟

Got a cortisone shot in my left knee on Friday...knee feels much better...

orthopedist showed me the advanced arthritis on the x-rays...told me I'll be needing that knee replaced not too far down the road...said for pain relief, I should stop my long distance walking...I told him I'll keep walking until it hurts so bad that I'll be ready for the knee replacement...

I also know like ten more people who have had knees or hips replaced. The single thing each and everyone of them said is they all wish they hadn't waited and lived with pain for a long time before deciding. And, your pain is just goigg to increased over time. It is only going to get worse and worse.

Why wait until some undetermined time in the future when your health status may not be as good as you know it to now?

WHY NOT GET IT DONE NOW when you when you [u]know what the status of your health (which could change in the futore?

YMMV.

Can't do cortisone. It would be a risk for infection. Scheduled for total shoulder reverse arthroplasty. Rotator cuff is basically gone. What is there are bone spurs on bone and from the MRI taken last week it looks like they're Dracula's front teeth! Surgery is scheduled for 11/27. Yea! At least the pain can't be worse than it is now.

When I think of the Eagles I'm still not over 4th and 26.

Just when I thought I was somewhat over that play. 😣

I don’t know what’s more traumatizing, 4th and 26 or the onside failure against the Seachickens.

I’mma sure other fanbases have had their distressful moments but man, not too many can top those two. Okay, mebbe “The Drive” and “The Fumble” in back-to-back AFC Championship games will forever haunt Cleveland fans and top our two.

Mebbe.

Professional knowledge: One of the nation's very best orthopedic-replacement surgeons just so happens to be in Orlando. He invented several pieces of patented hardware commonly used for replacements and such. which are commonly used nationally. His name is Dean Cole, MD.

I also have immediate access to both listservs from the Central Florida and Tampa injury lawyers associations. Probably at least 400+ injury lawyers who I can easily ask online just about Greater Tampa...........if you want me too.

Good luck Al. My knee surgeon showed my images and said I had 6 months to two years at best before I would need knee replacement. That was over 5 years ago and I go 5 miles a day.

Happy Monday folks. Phone says 67 going to 86. I'll take it. 😇

I'll prolly see how effective this cortisone shot reduces the pain in the knee. Not especially looking forward to a replacement surgery. The first one on the right knee was 13 years ago; the post op therapy was about 2 months, and then it was another month of exercises on my own before the artificial knee felt strong enough for long distance walking.

The pain now in the left knee is not constant, and doesn't impact my daily activities, movement or sleep, as the right one did years ago. It only hurts when I walk long distances (1+ miles). And I'm not swallowing large doses of NSAIDs to relieve pain, risking kidney and liver health, as I did before. So it doesn't feel as urgent...

Many moons ago, around ‘84 or ‘85, I was really into running but developed plantar fasciitis in both of my heels. Went to a noted sports orthopedic doctor and he quickly suggested cortisone shots. The 4 shots (…local and then the cortisone…) were quite painful but I toughed it out. But, gotta say, my heels felt soooo much better after that. Mebbe not the smartest thing but even played tennis the next day! But I was asked to play with Akio Morita (…co-founder of Sony…) so how could I say no?

I pretty much stayed away from any sports for a few weeks but stopped running for quite awhile and concentrated on tennis again. No hardcore 2-hour hitting sessions or 3 sets of singles but was glad to get back on the court again. Anyway, long post short, the shots and limited stress worked and glad it never got to the point where the ortho had to go in and scrape my heels.

Got just 40 minutes for my layover in LAX. Not too hopeful.

Buddy who left at noon today got delayed and missed connection in Denver.

Group who left last night got delayed and missed their connection in Dallas.

I really like flying into a tiny regional airport close to the track but it's looking like it's not worth the extra cost.

At least my layover is LAX hopeful another flight to Chicago will be available same day.
