Cut the grass today. Trimmed and edged the sidewalks and all. Took me about 90 minutes total, as I went slowly. Heart rate barely got up into the 100's for 3 minutes total, which is a yuge improvement. I'm a bit sore, but I've been pretty sedentary for about 3+ weeks so I think that's normal.

Walking the dog I got 23 minutes in the fat burn zone. Figured pushing a mower would do more than 3... but whatever.

Savois’s is passable. But, I get mine from my cousin’s butcher shop down in French Settlement. He’s a third generation owner of the shpo.

Savoies is the best I can get in a regular grocery store here. I can get Conecuh in a Latin grocery store.

Calling for 8-12" of snow here in North Central MA that supposed to start mid day tomorrow and into Sunday. So far we've been lucky (or unlucky if you are a snow lover or a ski mountain) but it's MA so it's only a matter of time before we get some snow accumulation.

Bought a used snow blower this past summer from a guy that does small engine repairs/tuneups. The family that dropped it off decided to move to FL and told him to keep it. I haven't fired it up for a few months so it's probably a good idea to do so tomorrow before the snow falls. Got some extra shear pins for the inevitable future when I run over a stick and break a shear pin. Also bought an electric cordless snow shovel/blower thingy. It's battery is fully charged and it will prolly get it's virgin exposure to snow this weekend.

When I say "I" snow blowed, in truth, the "I" is either my son and/or the neighbor's son who do majority of the work (neighbor also has two snow blowers that he refurbished). I'll prolly do some just to see how well the machines work but the kids will do the majority of the work.

Then come next Wed, they are predicting high temp in the mid 40's and rain so the snow will likely be washed away.

I like me some andouille. Where I'm at there is no special butcher or meat store that I know of. Best I can get Hillshire Farm, Kayem, Aidells, and national or regional names like that. They are OK but not the best.

A small new Hispanic focused grocery store opened up in town the past couple weeks but I haven't been there yet. They prolly don't have andouille (why would they?) but I definitely want to visit the store and see what they have to offer for making Hispanic based food dishes.

I've grown to be anti snow. It's nice to have it for a day or two. When the blanket of snow falls it looks pretty and seems to dampen outside noises. Nice, quiet, peaceful, sparkling snow cover. Snowballs, snowmen, snow forts, sledding, and so on. Plow guys and landscape guys that turn into plow guys have to get some winter income too so that's another benefit.

With that said, I'm getting too old for clearing the snow. Besides, how can I scream at the kids to "GET OFF MY LAWN!" if there is snow on it. "GET OFF MY SNOW!" just doesn't sound right.

I was anti-snow after I left Chicago after boot camp. I haven't seen the stuff since then... and that was 1988.

I do not miss it, and I will live the remainder of my days in warmer climes.

Had a horrible day of sleep. Went to bed at 0830 plenty tired and fell asleep quickly. Woke up at 1030 and then at least hourly after that. Cold sweats mostly. My reynauds keeps getting worse as I get older too. 3 fingers on the right hand completely white numb and cold. Skin is starting to peel off the index finder.

Anyway. Back to work.

Re: danm, I'm not a doctor but that doesn't sound good. You know better than me but might want to get it looked at.

Re: MACS, I'm not 100% against snow. I like the fresh snow. It looks pretty, has a peaceful calming effect, the essentially dead silence outside as it quiets things down. When my kids were young it was awesome doing snowball fights, building snow forts and stuff. You are never too old for a nice snowball fight and snow forts. Then the fun drifts into work to snow blowing and shoveling, driving in the crappy roads and the nice clean snow turns into dark snow with the sand and salt from the clearing the roads.

On a positive note, although they are calling for more snow in central MA, is it predicted to be light and fluffy rather than the coast that will have less snow but wet and heavy.

Bought my son some snow tires for his car this past summer too but he's been lax on getting them put on. I kept reminding him to put them on earlier rather than later but he hasn't yet. Maybe this little storm will push him to take it over the goal line and get it done.

Savois’s is my go to when I’m away unless I get lucky and see a pack of Verona’s. Though only the sausage. I refuse to buy that mass produced grocery store 💩 posing as andouille.

If you will be passing this way anytime soon I could pick you up a supply of “real” andouille. On the other hand, I could pack some on dry ice and ship it to you. I have to warn you though it’s got a moderate to heavy smoke taste. So it’s not for those with a weak palate. Of course you’d probably want some smoked pork sausage, homemade cracklings, boudin and Tasso.

If you end up liking it plan on spending a small fortune continuing to get it. I want to say the andouille sells for north of $7 a pound or more then there’s the added cost of a container, dry ice and overnight shipping.

This is his website. Unfortunately, I don’t think he sells online. But, if you bought a large enough order he may ship.

I don’t know if you’ve tried these type of sleep aids but we’ve been using this for about 6 months and it does help us go to sleep faster as well as experience a deeper rest.

I think it's 99% nightshift. When I'm off I tend to sleep well or at least better. This past week off i slept 10p-5a every day. I've always been a sweaty sleeper tho. The boy's a sweaty sleeper too. It's just harder to deal with in the winter cause I can't throw the covers off and let it evaporate, I stay sealed up marinating in my own juices.

Reynauds thing unrelated and been under treatment for years. Just gets worse in the winter.

Looking at dayshift jobs. I think I need to just appreciate the years of my week on week off schedule and go work like a normal person again.
