Mornin Ya'll... a Whaaping 11 degree's but Sunny... 🇨🇮

Rented a 15 ft U-Haul this morning to do a road trip for 40 sheets of 5/8" OSB for my woodshop roof. $15.00 a sheet couldn't pass up the deal.. also got a deal on 12 sq. of Owens Corning "Duration" shingles for $400 bucks mixed colors so I'll have to sort by color and see with this Hip roof how many squares I'll need for each side to purchase or, just lay them psychedelic patters so passer-bys can gawk their way into a ditch.. 🇨🇮 🇨🇮

Just curious Russ, but what’s the normal going rate. It’s been 2-3 years since I bought any but IIRC the price seemed to be about 15-16 bucks a sheet when I last bought any. Did it cost more to save than what you saved?

Not if it’s a Tesla in Chicago.

I did hear that one section of Chicago was an eerie as 98.2% of the vehicles were Teslas. Looked like a graveyard of them.

We are warming.
Currently 4 with -11 wc.
Only the briefest of dog walks and the mailbox will get me outside of the 67 degree confines of our home.

We keep ours at 71 and the wife complains she is freezing!

Just talked with my BIL in Houston and he said he had frozen pipes and had to use a hair dryer on them this morning. Never thought of Houston as a particular cold spot.

Mine is set at 69 currently. Long PJ's keep me warm... and a blanket. The recliner is a good place for a cat nap, but if I get real sleepy I just go to bed and close the blinds/curtains and it's dark.

Had a spinach/blueberry/peanut butter protein shake for breakfast. Salmon and a Cesar salad later.

One our load planners called me last week and wanted to know if I wanted a load headed to the upper Michigan peninsula. IIRC the weather out by you is substantially similar. I’m one of the guys who will pretty much go anywhere. Probably the main reason I seem to run more miles than 98.2% of our other drivers. My response was something like are you fu*king serious? Not just no but double Dutch fu*k NO. He said something to the effect of it might make getting premium loads harder in the future. To which I asked who was going to run the Bronx loads I had been running because no one would take them. He’s like nevermind.

Glad we had a meeting of the minds.

Every few months he pulls that. When does I remind him that I was looking for a job when I found this one and that fairly confident that since I generally get at least one call a day from a recruiter I won’t have a problem finding if I go looking again.
