My last dog, when it was franking cold or if it was raining, didn't want to go outside even though I knew he need to. He held it as long as he could and I'd then get the look. I'd just open the back door and stand on the porch. He'd go out, do his business as fast as he could and come prancing to me.

Sometimes he wouldn't do the full business (poop, not pee or pee and not poop) and just wanted to get back inside as soon as possible. I'd say "You're not done yet, go finish" and point to the yard. He'd sulk, walk back to the yard and finish emptying the bowls or bladder then come back to the porch. "Can we go in NOW!" Sure, good boy. Time for a treat.

Temp in north central MA: 11° F with a real feel of -5° F with the windchill. I don't think I'll be going outside but I do have an errand to run. Other than that, I have some paperwork and some computer work to do. Not sure what to cook today. Prolly steak tips or tacos.

One of the engineers at work quit a few weeks ago. He was the one that ran the 3D printer to make some low volume smaller plastic parts and to print up some test models. I have inherited that part of his job. I've been playing with the printer (a Prusa MKS3) on and off over the past few weeks. There is a learning curve for a newbie like me with 3D printers on how the printer works, the software and all that stuff but it seems pretty easy. The Prusa is a nice hobby type 3D printer and it works pretty well but I think we can do better.

The company is open to upgrade the printer to a better one - bench top ones are only around $1500. We don't really need one that prints anything larger than 10" in all three dimensions and I'm leaning advise on getting a Bambu X1 after watching many reviews. Again just a bench top model to print up some small parts and some test parts.

Here is just one head to head review.

Work bench sized 3D printers are rather inexpensive these days. If I had $1,500 burning a hole in my pocket I'd buy a Bambu X1. I don't need one but hey, it would be cool to play with and print some random stuff.

Maybe if the owner buys a new Bambu 3D printer, I'll buy the older used Prusa from them.

Tank doesn't care what the temperature is, he just hates going out in the rain. Doesn't like the sound of thunder or the rain drumming on the roof.

Does NOT like a bath, but tolerates them without much complaint. Enjoys the water only if he can walk in and keep his feet on the ground. He's pretty solid, so it's a struggle for him to keep his head above water when swimming. Sinks like a rock.

Got some rain coming in today, and will stick around for a few days...I'm gonna have to put on some rain gear to do my daily walks...or not...

On a great roll recently. Due to the sun, moon and stars all lining up perfectly I’ve got a chance to get home mid-morning verses late afternoon on Monday.

Found the e-bike battery key to unlock it from the e-bike. I should probably make a couple spare copies of it. Gave the lock a couple of sprits of some WD-4 (it was kinda sticky for not being unlocked for about 6 months) and it's twisting like it should. Now I can unlock the battery and bring it inside to charge it when needed rather it being in the deep cold on the porch.

It's too damn cold to ride it but at least I can get the battery inside out of the cold.

It's a small accomplishment that will require a cheese burger for a small victory. The cheeseburger was already on the docket to be consumed so it didn't have a choice. Burger, cheese, onion pickles and lettuce.

Had my annual body fluid evaluation at work. Woke up around 2p and already got results. Everything's perfect. Was too tired this morning to have a smoke even though I planned on just burning a little t52 cigarillo. Can't fall back asleep maybe I'll go to the garage for a bit before work tonight.

I filled out the forms to finalize the job transfer. They said they'll schedule my piss test next week. They won't accept the annual test I just did today, it's gotta be a surprise test... at least its not the cotinine test and I can have my one drug of choice.

Gotta have a thick slice of ripe tomato with that burger...ketchup, mayo and mustard...

I could go for a cheeseburger right about now...

Agreed. Double thin smashed fatty beef patty with crisped up lacey edges and American cheese melted into the greasy meat so the drippings are orange colored on a thick bun to soak up the flavor.

I had rice and kimchi tonight. Bringing jambalaya to work. Kinda tempted to stop at five guys or schoops on my way to work but a big old burger would make me sleepy

Out in the garage with that T52 cigarillo I skipped out on this morning. I love these things. Thought I had more but it'd my last one. Will need to grab a couple more tins next time i order. Excellent 30 min smoke.
