Our local Italian place Teresa's makes a great pizza. I had one yesterday then remembered it was Ash Wednesday... I'm going to hell. Better live it up now.

Mornin' dudes.

One of my neighbor's chickens is dead. Not sure what killed it, but Tank woke up at 0500 wanting to get out in the yard... so I went out with him and a Turkey vulture was sitting on my neighbor's roof waiting for daylight to begin the banquet.

Saw Tank and he took off... sun's up and I can hear the other chickens fussing.

Beyond the back fence is woods... possums, raccoons, deer, and any other number of things. Our yards are fenced with vinyl fencing, except the back part going to the woods... it's black aluminum with gaps in it. Not sure why they did it that way, but just about all of the ones I have seen are like that.

Neighbor has his blocked off with chicken wire for obvious reasons, but it didn't keep whatever it was out. Tank keeps them out of my yard. [ram27bat]

Sounds like y'all need a Great Pyrnees to take care of your animal problems. Ours won't let a coyote, fox, raccoon within a mile of this place.

Neighbor said it appeared to be a cat when he checked his camera. From 7 chickens to 6 and one of them is injured and a couple haven't laid eggs due to stress.

Tank would kick that cats ass... but he's a momma's boy and sleeps in da bed, not outside.

Yikes! My daughter is an official car owner as of today. She got her driver's license a couple weeks back bought a car today. It's a used car, Ford Fusion. I didn't want to buy a new vehicle or expensive used one since odds are new drivers will get into an accident within a year. I wanted something safe, reliable, and in her price range (deal was I pay one third, ex-wife pays one third, and she pays one third).

Tomorrow they go to the registry and get it registered and the plates and stuff.

It's a high mileage car and CarFax says it was not in any accidents. It spent most of its time in Connecticut, regular oil changes at dealerships and routine maintenance. Nothing on the CarFax history raises red flags.

It drives good but I told the dealer to give it a brake job before it gets picked up (I gotta get something free from the deal). I don't think it needs them but before we take it off the lot at least have them put on a fresh set of pads and rotors.

Probably pick it up next week on Tues or Wed since Monday is a holiday.

Just a heads up. A new first time driver will be on the road by the middle of next week. If you don't live in central MA, you are safe. If you live in central MA, look both ways while walking across the street and check your blind spots while your are driving (typical stuff folks should do anyway).

We stopped by the smokehouse on the way home from the B&B this morning. I picked up a pair of cornbread stuffed chicken breasts coated with Cajun seasoning.

They’re in the oven. Probably have another 15-20 to go.

Also made some homemade creamed spinach with Philly Cream Cheese, Gruyère and Brie. Then topped it with breadcrumbs and Parmigiana-Reggiano. It’s in the oven as well.
