I have mixed feelings. Certainly, merit should rule. Who the hell wants an incompetent physician, for example?

But, there was also a time in this country when Jews could not get admitted to many universities and colleges through the late 60's. If they were, their grades were often deflated.

It got so bad in Detroit that Jewish doctors in Detroit at the time started Sinai Hospital so that Jewish doctors (along with non-Jews) could get credentialed for hospital privileges...
