81271: LPH BP Morado Robusto
81272: RP Decade Robusto

My first time w/this RP blend. 2 totally different cigars but from the same 10 pack. First one dog rocket, second one not bad.

That's been my experience with RP. I don't buy them but they often get put into add-on/freebie samplers with other orders. Sometimes I'm shocked by how good they are. Other times they're complete trash.

^ unfortunately I’ve got a lot of RP 10 packs in various blends that I need to burn through. I probably won’t punish myself as I did with the Gurkhas, I’ll see if the boys at the VFW want them or I’ll pack them up and send to a charity (or maybe Leebo). I’ve got other brands waiting that I haven’t tried but I’m starting to get the feeling I may have a lot of junk to sample. This is what I wanted though…try it for myself and learn more.

81*** Dumbarton Sobremesa robusto grande from Jakethesnake.

Easy top 5 cigars I've smoked this year so far. Wow. I've not explored Sakas new stuff mostly because the price. Seems they may be priced appropriately. I chalked it up to name/hype. Read a lot of praise as well as negatives. I think the guy is a giant douche but goddamn this is a good cigar.

Tastes like a well aged smoke. Creamy, sweet, very mild pepper in my sinuses. Nutty, caramel, rich spices, just all around everything I want in a cigar. The profile changed significantly throughout the smoke while all staying within my wheelhouse. This has to be aged there's no way this isn't at least a few years old.

I will definitely be picking up more of these. I ordered a sampler so i have one single left but ill grab a fiver next time i fjnd em on sale. Thank you JTS.

Great review danm!

I, too, have no love for the owner/blender but that is one effing good cigar. Imo, the Sobremesa smokes this beautifully and deliciously after 2 weeks or 2 years. A humidor must have.

81276: Macanudo Cafe paired with Crown Royal. I have found that mild cigars need a year to be complex. Down to my last two of these and they have 2.5 years in the humi. Cold draw yielded earthy flavors with a hint of spice. Upon lighting, more pronounced spice, the classic Connie wrapper taste, and hint of that Dominican "metallic" flavor. Pretty blonde cigar, with one discernable vein up the bottom half from the foot. Spice mixes more with the wrapper flavors at the first third mark. I remember these as mild, with above average Connie flavors, however, by the half way mark, I am surprised by the steady spice notes (cinnamon). Burn is even to just barely wavy. Really good with the Crown. Spice notes continue through the second third. Really enjoying this old cigar. Burn gets wavier as the nub approaches. A little harsh at the nub, shoulda stopped a puff or two ago. Although these stand up fine on their own, there are just too many better cigars that take up humi space to justify buying them again. I will enjoy my last one next month with coffee, hoping it too has that wonderful spice surprise from the San Andres binder, and then be done with this once classic cigar.

I have plenty nubbin tools, but my fingers work best. When I use a tweezer, hemostat, or awl I tend to singe my mustache and that smells awful. Fingers work best.

81278 Trocadero Ruelles. 2nd one is much better than the first. A month or two in the humidor tends to do that vs rott.

Pretty boring but good. Peanut shells and a lil cinnamon. Not as astringent as the first one, and no bitterness. Still fairly dry. Overall decent. Not gonna be a repeat purchase. $3.75 per

81279 El Suelo Vuelos. Much better after a couple months resting. Bready/cracker/pretzel, slight sweetness no spice. Little pepper on retro, slightly dry. Overall decent but not a repeat purchase. $3.75 per.

^ glad you liked the sobremesa danm. I love those. I don’t run out of those. I have no idea the date on that box. Maybe a couple years. But the other box is much older so I’m unsure. But that’s my favorite saka blend. Umbagog didn’t do much and mi querida was just meh (for the price). They’re all pretty good but I really only buy the sobremesa. I’ve had the brûlée and brûlée blue. If you like Connie’s the original brûlée is the better cigar in my opinion. But overall the original sobremesa is the best from saka.

My personal opinion The todos Los Dias was also very good but they’re unavailable last I checked
