81429: RP 20th Anniversary Robusto
This one was the best I’ve had out of the lot. Woody, earthy and a hint of vanilla and coffee. Then the last third went haywire and would not burn properly. It did have some nice flavors going for it though.

I have never had gizzard. I would definitely try it. Somebody cook some and send them to me in a FRB.

I have only had it for three months so I assumed it would be a really tight draw like my previous run in with MD, but this is like butter...

81438 Crowned Heads Sfumato in C Major. Bought a single in a CH sale, only 2 weeks humidor time but wanted to try it soon Tiver gave me a heads up on cheap boxes of these. Trying not to blind buy more boxes right now. It seems like something I'd enjoy which is why I bought the single.

First light toasty nutty typical light flavors. By first ash drop some pepper has come in retro, some buttery creaminess in the texture, good bit of cedar and cinnamon playing. Like a piece of buttered toast with cinnamon sugar. Wrapper is matte at the foot and semi gloss by the head which is a strange thing. But it's nicely made.

The first inch and from appearances I assumed it would be a very light smoke. It is not. May be its youth bringing the punches, may be the contrast from expectations to experience, may just be a lot stronger than the description reads.

2nd ash drop and this things giving Pete Johnson a run for his money on the pepper n cream. Did not expect this.

Hit the halfway point and I hit the checkout button on the box of these. If it's like this 2 weeks in, I anticipate they will age well. And at $4.50 by the box vs the $7 I paid for the single, it's a hard bargain to pass up. Threw in a couple fivers of the United Abuelo they were $9per by the pack or by the box. Thank you Tiver for the heads up on these.

81441: Tatuaje Brown Label robusto. Last of a box from 2015. Light pepper on the cold draw. First third has that light pepper mixed with a creamy mocha. The years have clearly melded together those signature notes. Perfect burn, white ash...immaculate. Paired with some Johnnie Walker 18. Second third: the interplay between the pepper and the creamy mocha is divine. Not generally a fan of nc habano wrapped cigars, but this is pure joy. Final third, the pepper comes more to the front, but there is still that creamy mocha and now some leather on my palate. Probably won't buy these again, hard to find and expensive, but will have to find some singles of either Havana VI or L'Atelier 59 (or your recommendations) for my next Johnson fix. Can't believe I now have no Tats in the humi...

81441 Espinosa Sarsasparilla beli from darklord trade. I've had a couple Espinosa cigars in the past and they didn't wow me so I don't have high hopes but well see.

First light is leathery with some grittiness behind it. Little sweet spice nothing discernable. Burn is uneven in the first inch with an 1/8" void tunnel on the faster burn part. Gonna see if that seals up or corrections won't do chit.

Touched it up and dropped the ash once the burn line evened out. Dunno if it's the name or if it's really there but there's a Sarsasparilla flavor like those root beer barrel candies. Maybe some anise too. It's a weird profile. Gonna grab a root beer to pair for the rest of this. Dunno if if pick that up if it were unbanded/ blind.

Halfway I looked it up. MSA wrapper nic fill. Does have the filthy gritty dirt from the MSA but balanced with a pretty sweet filler blend. No pepper bite, it's a very smooth leathery smoke. There's a lingering salty/metallic quality in there but not overpowering or unwelcome.

I dont know if I'd buy one at $10, but it's interesting enough I wouldn't mind having another. Reminds me of my thoughts on the other Espinosa cigars I've had. Unique for the sake of being unique but not something I want in a regular rotation. Can't say I've ever opened the humidor and thought I wanted a cigar with notes of anise. I'd call this one good.
