These have not lost too much of their strength after 14 years. Definitely mellowed but still have a black pepper, spice and dark fruit profile with a little citrus note that I don't remember from my last tasting.

Last night:
81964 - La Palina Goldie #5 - tasty as always
81965 - EPC Short Run 2023 - man, these are good (not great), about where the Prequels land, but he's never recaptured the magic of the 2010 Short Runs. If they were much cheaper they'd be a decent buy, but can't recommend at current prices.

Speaking of EPC, what’s your opinion of La Gloria Cubana?

Not sure if I’ve smoked this blend. Definitely my first time with this torpedo. I get a lot of fierce red pepper at the kickoff which mellows with a tiny bit of cream in first and second third. Second third and beginning of final third lots of grilled meat flavors and dried cherry on retro, building strong flavor of leather and burnt toast. Final third required touch up and relight. I’ve had this one for one month, caught a cheap single on CBid. I think more time in storage would benefit the final third. Good not great.

Sorry for cutting in and definitely not answering for CBD but I’ve never found a LGC (NC) that I thought much of. HOWEVER, one of my nephews LOVES, LOVES, LOVES them so I collected all that I had and gave them to him. He asked me if I was sure ‘cause he thought they were really good. Told him, nah, since he likes them, he’d appreciate them much more than me. So ultimately it’s another example of how palates can differ. I think iffin’ I stumble upon a straggler, I’d smoke it, just to see iffin’ my palate is still the same or it changed and wish I had access to the Wayback Machine.

You’re not cutting in, Palama. I always welcome your input. And, this is a public forum for cigar discussion so I welcome any civil discussion - which pretty much rules out Leebo.
Until recently I thought the LGC Serie R and the maddie and the black and the black maddie were excellent and in my top tier. The more cigars I try the stiffer the competition becomes for the top spots for me. Of course I’ve smoked a lot of dog rockets too and LGC isn’t in that category for me. I still like them more than most.

And now for something completely different, and this is for anyone reading this:
The small place is having a nice sale from now until midnight tomorrow on these brands and many more. These seem to get a lot of airtime here so I’m passing the information. They have different coupon codes so if you’re interested let me know and I’ll post all of that information as well.

These are not the original ITC from RP. I never smoked one of the old original ITC but Leebo gifted me one. Can’t wait to try it. These new ones…nah

The Four Kicks Capa Especial is the Sumatra wrapper that EPC originally wanted, is that correct? I think that’s what I read. I wonder if you’ve smoked the other blends and can compare them or if you have a favorite among the Four Kicks. I think Jake likes the Four Kicks too.

81975 All Saints Colorado with thanks to jeebling. I know nothing about this cigar but I have seen the name on retailers websites.

First light dry mildly astringent texture straight out the gate. That's no good. Flavors are pleasant, bready like a pretzel, little red pepper retro but not much. First ash drop its gone straight for wood and the flavor you get from the old lick em n stick em postage stamps. Burn is sharp no touchups. Ash is firm. Seems like it could be a decent yard gar if you can tolerate a dry habano profile. I can not. Nothing about this cigar is unique or interesting. Cracked open a root beer to help. Tastes like any of the cigars from brands that sell cigars but aren't cigar artists. Like the STG/Gen/altadis groups. That's fine for many people as evidenced by the volume they sell, but it's not for me.

Looked it up, halfwheel gave it an 89 but reading the review it seems to be close to my experience. Mild flavors, astringent, not much there to excite or offend. I put it down halfway.

81978 All Saints Dedication with thanks to jeebling. Box press looks just like RP Decade. Otherwise I got nothing. Know nothing of this cigar either but I'm going in prejudiced based off the last one.

First light dry, mild, little woody. Thought the darker wrapper was indicating we'd go in a different direction but this kinda tastes the same but turned up. It's not as astringent. The date on the cello says it's 4/24 so I'm not giving it much of a chance either, still basically rott. The spicy peppers in my sinuses continues to build, it's less woody than it started. Very much full flavor. Some msa like filthand metallic/mineral notes are dominant now. Still a slight sweetness on the finish like a roasted potato. I did just eat a bag of salt n vinegar potato chips leftover from someone's Jimmy John's for lunch i took home from work today so I might be skewed. It's definitely better to me than the last all Saints but much stronger than I prefer. Surprisingly good burn despite its youth and the box press. Halfway a nice nuttiness in with the dirty mineral notes like a salted walnut. I looked it up at this point, it is MSA wrapper and the cigar coop review mirrored my experience as well. I see a lot of references to chocolate in a lot of reviews but I rarely pick that up. I also rarely eat chocolate so maybe it's just not something I'm tuned into.

Overall I think it's good. Not my preferred profile but there's an awful lot of newer MSA blends out there these days so somebody's into them. Smoked the whole cigar.
