Scientists estimate that the average American eats about one pound of bugs each year.

So MACS doesn't need quite as much of those protein shakes as he thinks.

But they taste better than bugs... just sayin'.

Those who ride without full faced helmets eat a lot more than that.

I remember hearing you eat about 5 spiders a year because they crawl into your nose while you're sleeping.

We've got "organ donors" here who ride with no helmets. 🤦

Same here. The helmet law was reversed in PA about 20 years ago. If you're over 21 and have a motorcycle license (not just a permit) you don't have to wear a helmet. Though you do have to wear your seat belt in a car by law. More gubment hypocrisy.

They are remaking the Lord of the Rings trilogy with Tom Holland as Frodo. I won't even watch it. Hollywood needs new ideas, not more remakes.

Really? Sheesh, not sure how they’re gonna make it better but I doubt that I’mma gonna watch the remake in either big screen or streaming options.

Fo’ sure Hollywood has run out of fresh, totally original ideas. Iffin’ it’s not a 3rd or 4th remake, it’s the 8th installment / offshoot of a successful franchise like Star Wars, Fast ‘n Furious, etc., etc.

Ted Williams was the same, a pilot first and a baseball player second.

Stewart was an Army and Air Force Colonel and not a professional baseball player.

And probably soon to be forgotten.

Hear people say You learn something every day. Unsure of the level of truth with that, but startingbthink about the range of experiences with this group and think there are certainly less useful threads posted here (a bunch of them mine).

So… if you learn something new, and you’d like to share with the group, please do.

Massachusetts became the first U.S. state to legalize same-sex marriage.

This Week in History‏‏‎‎ May 17, 2004

Massachusetts became the first U.S. state to legalize same-sex marriage.

Hundreds of gay and lesbian couples hurried to apply for marriage licenses, thanks to a state Supreme Court ruling the previous November. Some paid fees to waive a three-day waiting period. The desire to make their partnerships legal as well as the fear that politicians might take away their right to marry fueled the rush.

Marriage entitles spouses to benefits such as inheritance, hospital-visitation rights and the filing of joint tax returns. Other states followed suit, and in 2013, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the Defense of Marriage Act enacted in 1996 was unconstitutional. Today public approval of same-sex marriage is widespread in the U.S.

I’m all for it. Not to be a downer, but it irks me that the government is involved in any way whatsoever, for any citizen wanting to marry. But I understand.

The average couple will pay $214,000 in Medicare taxes over their working life but receive benefits totaling $635,000.

Of corse this does not include what they may have done with that money iffn they didn't pay taxes up front.
