"Short corona" that's what that Rojas was. I remember because I remember thinking, "doesn't seem short to me, and it's thicker than a corona. That's a dumb name."

Great size for a cigar though. 5.5 x 46rg.

82496: DE Herrera Esteli Brazilian Mata Fina Short Corona Gorda - Thanks to Jake

This is my first time smoking this. The cello had a light yellow tinge. Not much on the nose/foot, cold draw. Kickoff was very mellow w/no pepper or burn. Mouth tobacco was slightly salty and savory, very nice. Right out the gate the smoke was mostly savory with a brown pizza crust finish. Second third less pizza crust and Dr. Pepper showed significantly. Final third Dr. Pepper yielded to molasses and dark toast notes were occasional with black tea in the background. Burn line required 2 touch ups, nothing major. Beautiful cigar, nice feel. I can see putting a fiver in storage until the cello starts to turn yellow like this one. I like this cigar in this vitola. Thanks, Jake for a terrific smoke.

82497: Gran Habano Vintage 2002 Romusto w/thanks to JTS
Beautiful Corojo, expert construction, herbal nose & foot, firm, solid, light in hand. Kickoff mild sweet cedar and finish of spiced rum and Sprite. Long firm ash held on until first transition. Hits of light molasses and occasional baking spices, cedar, herbal all hit and miss, keeping my tastebuds wide awake. Cedar hanging in there. Final third beautiful retro burns sinuses with strong dark rum and mild molasses, minerals. There’s a toasty note trying to elbow its way into the mix. First display of cayenne pepper. Installing patented Tele-nubber. Immaculate burn line, copious amounts of thick smoke. First smack of grilled meat here in last third. Body was medium, medium+, - full building to the nub. I very much enjoyed this and can see myself buying a fiver.

82450 Warped Futuro

Started off good to great. Spicy, lil wood, nice sweet nutty notes and a mildly creamy texture some vanilla on finish. Halfway had burn issues, tunneled a bit but I was able to massage it out. But I think it got too hot and got bitter on me so it's just decent. First half was good tho.

82503 - Eiroa Dark toro, which is lovely.

EDIT: Really a nice cigar. I think I read that it was full bodied, but I would call it medium. Still, it was interesting, well-made in every aspect, great flavor. I can dig it.

82508: Cohiba Black Romusto, compliments of JTS

Yet another yellow tinged cello. Jake sent me some cigars w/some nap time. How long does it take for the cello to start showing yellow? I’m sure the wrapper has a lot to do with that. Just thought I’d ask.

This stick was dark, solid black w/invisible seems, firm, not much on nose / foot but a tad barnyard and cocoa. Nothing on cold draw. Kickoff sweet w/touch of chocolate. Tastes of Sprite and molasses just like a CBL wrapper usually has. That flavor into the middle of last third and suddenly charred oak, jalapeño style pepper, heavy dark molasses, touch of mineral. It went from a med/med+ to a full profile very quickly. Immaculate burn line, firmer draw than I prefer but no excavation required. Thank you, Jake for the wonderful treat.

Tiver, how old are the oldest cigars in your stash? My oldest ones are over 10 years old, just a few that were generous gifts from the trades here. The oldest cigar I have that I bought myself is from December ‘23. I’ve got a couple boxes of Aging Room that I intend to age.

82516: Cohiba Red Dot Churchill 7x 49 w/thanks to Jake

Floral body, foot, firm, nice seems, small veins well distributed, somewhat toothy. Light sweet tobacco on cold draw. Kickoff zesty, Camaroon flavor, tinge of lemon peel. Light wind is enough to blow off 1” ash, white and dense. Final third nice light sour and prominent leather. Slight creamy zest to it. Nice draw and burn line. Cool smoker right to the nub using my patented Tele-nubber. Slight white pepper here. This was a good smoke, squarely medium in body and flavor strength, a bit monotonous especially in this Churchill vitola. Enjoyable but probably more so in a Romusto. Thank you, Jake for the smoke. Never had this before.

Just smoked one the other that had 10 y3ars in the humidor. It's a very special stick for me. These thangs take fantastic to aging. But like you I had one out of a boatload of these that had tunneling. It lasted about an inch and then went back to normal. I chalked it up to human error. That's the thing with handmade products you get a blooper now and then. By the way mine are amazing. I smoke one every two months in my rotation. After smoking one I start looking forward to the next.
