82519: RP Vintage 1990 BP Churchill compliments of Jake The one and only Snake
Cello quite yellow with orange-ish tint. Barnyard on the body somewhat dried cherry & marshmallow on foot, botched cap job, wavy seams, small crack near foot all presented no problems, tight and firm, small veins well distributed, dark brown - reddish. Surprisingly light at kickoff w/minor Cedar and dusty earth. Very little flavor after first few puffs, very light mellow until second third when the taste became ashy and wood charcoal, bitter. All flavors died off and transition to final third burn line required a few touch ups, very long off centered cherry and a chunk of charcoal presented problems. Inside final third after charcoal fell out the flavor was very ashy and strong presence of tar. I don’t think this one aged well and I’m very glad to know this about RP. I sometimes think that the ones I have might improve with aging but I’ve learned a lesson. That is what I’m here for; to learn about cigar tobacco. Thank you, Jake for the smoke and a valuable lesson.

It was a pretty large RG, so the flavor was good, but not super strong. I enjoyed it!

I also smoked it really really slow (2.25) hours to make sure it didn’t knock me out. Nice way to spend a couple hours though!

Nope, just got and smoked from my local B&M because someone on the blind fiver really liked theirs (iirc). I usually only get Sake for special occasions from a nearby sake brewery.

Tiver, how old are the oldest cigars in your stash? My oldest ones are over 10 years old, just a few that were generous gifts from the trades here. The oldest cigar I have that I bought myself is from December ‘23. I’ve got a couple boxes of Aging Room that I intend to age.

I might have a few from some trade threads that have a little age, but from my own purchases it's possible there is a small number that are a few years. The bulk is from Nov '22 through current. CBid got a fair amount of orders for around 6 months so many of those are 12-18 mos now. Still bought/buying occasionally from CBid but the variety on CBid has become mostly redundant or stuff I don't want. I've bought around the net for the past year for added variety.

I am not aging in any strict sense, but holding most of what I buy for a year+ is what I hope to maintain as SOP.

Yup, a real shame that the selection variety has narrowed so much in the last few years. Once upon a time you could get some good deals on upper end smokes but MAP effectively killed that. The well-known site was also a great alternative and I truly miss those days of getting Fuente 8-5-8 Maduros, Tat Brown Label Reservas and PAM 64 Principes and Coronas for well under list price.

82527 Warped La Colmena with thanks to clickbangdead.

Fantastic cigar right out the gate. Fairly mild flavors, very cubanesque. Mild earthiness, sweet nuts, mild cream, honey and Graham cracker. No bite on retro, nearly perfect burn. Nicely ramped up in flavor intensity. I would question the country of origin if I were smoking this blindly. Reminds me of HDM Epicure no 2.

RP Sungrown Fuentes 3 years old. Order these because I love the first Sungrowns. They aren't bad but the first ones kick their butts. Back to the Fuentes, I'd say at 3 years old they've hit their peak. They're smooth with no harshness at all. The flavor is about the same as last year. Even though it was a disappointment they're smokable. I'll take one with me when I'm running about.
