Made a set of reservations to fly back home in WI in August. Parents 60th anniversary is on the 10th. They are simple people and don't want a big deal made of it but friends and family will be there. Prolly do something simple and like go out to eat at their pick of a restaurant. My guess it will be a buffet place that they both like or a mom and pop pub style place. (I smell some good WI cheese curds in my future).

Spend a half week with them and prolly knock off some things on the Honey Do list that they invent and they can't do for themselves. I'm looking forward to it and it's the least I can do to do random stuff for them. They won't live forever (My Dad has come to terms with that is just punting and waiting to die). I want to spend as much time I can with them. I fee guilty living 1000 miles away rather then living 100 feet away.

HHD Ram and youse guys. Up by 4 and out the door. Well, soon as I get coffeed up and things happen anyway. Gotta beat that old sol or fry trying. Meeting old buddies for coffee later.

Today is Friday1 in our house- my wife has a four-day work week with Thursaday, Saturday and Sunday off.
Tomorrow is Thursday2.
Friday is Friday2.

Atlantic Red Snapper season date came out... ONE day. July 12th. I've got a spot on the charter from 3-9pm.

It's ridiculous. The damn things are swarming every wreck and reef we fish. They're absolutely not endangered. Not when we have to change spots because it's ALL we're catching and we can't keep them.

I e-mailed the governor to see if there is anything he can do about it. It's a federal thing, not a Florida thing. And it's beyond stupid. I understand and agree with fish conservation. We want them to be sustainable for years to come so we can continue to fish and have fun. That said... giving us a month or two would be more acceptable to one day. The gulf side has 3 months. June 1 - Aug 28. There's also a handful of weekends Sep-Nov where they're allowing harvesting of red snapper. Total of 103 days this year. They may keep 2 per person.

Atlantic gets 1 f---ing day. 1 fish per person. It's horse sheit.

You will catch mangrove snapper and like it. No reds for you.

Finally had a beautiful day in the neighborhood. 90, sunny, low humidity. I passed on OT to get out of work as soon as I could.

Weed whacked the ditch, trimmed around the house, cleaned up, fed n watered chickens, replaced chain on boys gokart, washed the truck, went to tractor supply for stuff. Now on the patio smoking a cigar.

I miss my old schedule so much more in the summertime. Boy asked if I'd setup the tent in the yard and camp with him tonight but I gotta work in the morning and don't wanna do that. He's too scared to do it alone.

Meanwhile over on his other shoulder I pop up with the pitchfork* and poke him in the neck with it and tell him, "Maybe you really need your own boat. A real man would. You should totally do it."

Made me laugh.
