Loss of companionship.

My son is now in his twenties. My life has been much enriched by him being here.

If he was aborted, I wouldn’t have had a single moment with him. The loss is incalculable. But the dollar amount is certainly much more than zero.

As long as the sperm donor is willing to compensate for pain and suffering, host rental etc. that seems fair. Probably wash out as far as damages though.

Ever noticed that most of the people who are against abortion are people no one wants to fuck?

What about miscarriages should that trigger lost of companionship?

Pain and Suffering?

Are you referring to the child birth, or the 8 seconds of sex?

Need to also consider compensation for saggy tits, stretch marks, cracked nipples if nursing, weight loss, maternity clothes. Etc…

Everything from fertilization to birth.

But there is no birth. So any charges you outline, she would charge me up through birth and beyond would have to be reversed- sent to me.

My point being if we are as a whole going to consider forcing payment for loss of companionship then women forced to incubate a child against their wishes should also be compensated.

I understand your point.

My point is men should be part of the discussion and have some rights. At current state, men get none of the choice and all of the financial penalty.

Totally agree that the male whose sperm fertilized the egg should be part of the discussion. I would certainly hope that person’s feelings are very carefully considered and given weight. With that in mind both potential parents have equal companionship concerns.

But at the end of the day a decision has to be made. In my opinion the person with the biggest stake in the decision making process is the person whose body undergoes the pregnancy. So in my opinion that is the person who makes the final decision.
