Happy Friday! Early morning for a 6am flight to Florida! Universal here we come, with a visit with a CBid brother.

Don't mind the 90s temps and rain much, except when driving
with the lunatics down here in Dade County

Mid-90s this weekend and 90’s for the next week. We’ve had a slight break in humidity but it came creeping back in today. If we can start dipping below 70 overnight that will be a terrific relief…just a few weeks away.

Have the grandkids for da weekend... no rest for X... 😞

Beautiful clear sky day here in North Central MA. Weather folks say it will get to the low 80's. Picked the last of the veggies from the container garden. Gonna retire the plants and stuff today. Start up a compost bin so we have some nice dark natural organic matter for next years planting.

Trash bin drilled so it can breathe - holes in the bottom and the sides, ideally looking for a chimney effect. Add a nest of some pencil sized branches and twigs in the bottom so the stuff stays in the container, top with some dried leaves, some soil, then some green matter, some coconut hair rather than peat moss, more green matter, some brown matter, some soil... wash rinse and repeat. Kinda like making lasagna. Then let the microbes do their work to break it down into black gold for next season.

Bought an auger type thing that I can use on a drill to help mix the concoction. I could try to use it for ice fishing this winter.

Headlines: Some dumb ass used a cordless drill and a garden auger on thin ice... Authorities will look for the body in next spring.

Might even get nominated for a Darwin Award.

Saturday morning folks. Back in the valley after a short trip to the mountains. Finally getting under 100 for the next week and really looking forward to some nice weather after the hottest summer on record. Just about time to plant tomatoes and herbs for the fall.
