Gave all the fish to wifey's friends in San Diego. Didn't want to travel with a cooler full of fish. She just kept a few tuna steaks.

It's okay, though... rest assured I will go fishing again, and soon. 😁

Nice lookin' fishies... caught right at the Coronado Islands in about 80-90 feet of water. Unreal.

I wanted a yellowtail, too... they were biting... just not my line. The bluefin tuna were hungrier, I guess.

That must have been fun MACS. I enjoy fishing. They are fun to catch but they are yucky to eat. Some say that I'm screwed in the head and I have no defense against that statement. I just don't like the taste but enjoy fishing.

My neighbor right across the street is the same. He even had a boat but always either sold or gave away his catch. And another thing, he’s part Hawaiian and a large part of their diet is seafood but he just doesn’t like the taste of fish.

I'll pass on most fresh water fish except trout caught in cold water. OTOH, saltwater salmon, bass, tuna, halibut, flounder, redfish, swordfish, cod etc, are delicious.

Saltwater fish grilled, smoked, broiled, fantastic.

Snow crab and scallops are also fantastic!

Even pollock formed into fake crab meat isn't bad.

Around here for freshwater we have various types of trout. Lake trout, brown trout, brook trout, rainbow trout. They are stocked into the lakes and stuff every spring. According to my friends that fish often, this spring was a good year for trout. They stocked more this year than normal years. Apparently the fish farms had an abundance of trout to release. What isn't caught will propagate in the wild for the following years.

Up north in NH, ME, VT or in the deeper lakes out west MA you can find some locked salmon. Average ponds and lakes around there have a lot of bass, sunfish, crappies, and pickerel (not worth eating but fun to catch) plus some of the typical garbage fish.

In WI a typical fish fry would be lake perch, bluegill, and/or walleye. Trophy fish in that area would be bass, walleye, musky and northern pike - predator fish. If you are lucky enough to hook a musky, you better be ready for a battle and have good line. Them things can be huge.

Morning folks.

Took a fall in loose rocks on our hike in the mountain preserve yesterday. Sprained the left ankle and got cut up a bit. Tried to walk it off (we were about 2 miles in) but every step got more painful. Nurse Spunky took care of the RICE treatments and it is a little better this morning but no 5 miler for DED today. 😠
