Yeah, we'll see. Seems to me promising to lower taxes, no tax on overtime, no tax on SS, etc are not going to help lower the deficit. Maybe kicking enough bureaucrats out the door will help and certainly getting a handle on illegal immigration. Right now I believe the interest on the debt is in the range of $1T each year.

You are putting it in the light of a “contribution” I elected to make - pre-tax. But I was in fact paying a tax - and had no choice. Why is this tax benefit (like having roadways) taxable?
