Happy Thanksgiving Thursday fellas.

Managed to not get called in overnight but still couldn't sleep.

Made brisket mac n cheese and a pot of dirty rice with some ground brisket trimmings. Heading to brother in law's in a few hours.

Cold water supply line to the kitchen sink burst behind the shut off valve while getting ready for the 8 guests we were having over. There was literally water coming out of the walls... that was a pretty big bill from the plumber, and now I need to find new flooring to replace the crap laminate that was in the kitchen. Since a lot of the food was already done, we shifted all the food to the mother in law's house nearby and ate there.

On the plus side, the turkey came out great.

Building memories. Remember that Thanksgiving when the sink burst and flooded the kitchen? No harm, no foul. Just gotta laugh about it.

Could be worse: "Remember that Thanksgiving when the toilet spewed out sewage when the street plumbing backed up?"

Yep... my initial reaction when sheit goes wrong is, ahhhhh fook! Why me?

But then, when I think about it, it's not that big a deal. It'll get fixed. I have the means to fix it, whether I want to spend it is another matter. Then in those quiet moments... "What am I to learn from this, Lord? What's the lesson?"

Talk to me, Goose...

Damn stogie that blows. That's how I ended up inheriting Christmas host duty - flood at one house, furnace died at another, everyone ended up here. And then kept coming here.

Happy Friday fellas

Back to work.

Thanks Gents, we are laughing about it today...

I am thinking that the sink nozzle pullout return weight was hitting the cpvc supply line when the nozzle house retracted and eventually the cpvc cracked.

It's 165 sqft, and we plan to sell within a year or so, so getting new lower end flooring in there won't break the bank. Got a quote today for tile, installed, at around $10/sqft.

My five year old asked if she could have my turkey gravy on everything she ever eats. Made my day.
