Pneumonia sucks! I have had pneumonia twice. I hope you get over it quickly.

There is a vaccine, an actual vaccine, for pneumonia.

The valve spring thing was just a guess by my buddy, after he heard it running, since he had a similar problem with his '67 Corvette some time ago. Turns out a plug wire was arching due to a crack in the insulation. New set of wires and plugs and she is running sweet.

Iffn ya can get the wifey to walk a mile or more each day it may really help with overall health. Prolly need to start slow and build up if she has been sedentary for a long time. Good luck.

Nothing like starting the engine, opening the hood in the dark, and seeing little blue flashes. My wife's 95 Z28 still used plug wires. I can’t imagine how cluttered that engine compartment mighta looked as compared to a vehicle from the ‘60s or early’70s.

With the way they design engines now, I don’t even think about touching too many things on our cars.

On many vehicles you cannot even see the engine, it's under all sorts of plastic.

Rain today, snow tomorrow. Getting a few things done when I can.

Overall, not much going on here.

After I graduated college in the early 90's I bought a new Ford Ranger 4 cyl pickup for my vehicle and to move from Madison, WI to Massachusetts for my first post college job. I did all the routine preventive maintenance on it. While doing an oil change I figured why not change the plugs too. It's a simple thing to do (at least on previous cars I had) so I bought 4 spark plugs along with the oil and the filter.

After starting the simple process of changing out the plugs I learned some unanticipated things. The 4 cylinder engine has 8 plugs! WTF? I learned later that this is done to get a little extra power and a cleaner burn. One fires near the intake and one fires milliseconds later near the exhaust to try to ensure all fuel is consumed and leftover vapors don't push out with the exhaust (cleaner emissions).

The other thing I learned is you have to be a contortionist in order to get at the plugs for the cylinder in back by the firewall and you are guaranteed to lose all the skin and any blood going to your knuckles.

Other than that, I loved that little truck. I didn't have any problems with it. I traded it in when I upgraded to buy a larger new Chevy pickup. That was a bad choice. I have not and will not buy any GM product again. That thing cost me so much time and money to fix issue after issue, recall after recall. I swear it was built on a Monday after SuperBowl Sunday by a team of hungover workers in the slums of Detroit.

It's Tuesday, but no tacos for us. Wife likes the omelet/skillet I make with leftover steak, chopped mushrooms and onions and cheddar...that's what we're having...happy wife...

High in the 70's today, and the overnight low is forecast for 36......brrr...

Iffn he wanted a BB 396 I would have sold him my '69 Chevelle SS at a good price. He has always lusted for that SB 302 combo in the Z28 package. He is a strange dude in some ways. He has a mint '77 Ford F150 4WD in his garage with about 33K miles. He bought it new and parked it due to gas prices back then.
