Happy Saturday fellas.

Finally fell asleep around 0100 but then up again at 6. I sleep very lightly when I'm on call. Maybe I'll get a nap in today.

Got up, did the chores.

I need to reorganize and reinventory all my cigars. Been looking for one particular cigar that I know I have at least 3 of, but I can't find it. I had been keeping up with my spreadsheet noting the location of everything but a couple times I had to play box tetris across several totes and never updated the spreadsheet so now it's all a mystery. Can't do much today being on call, so it's a good opportunity to go through everything.

43 and rain here. Feels colder than the actual temp.

Got a lot of rain here lately--flooded mid week. I own a long stretch of creek and the water busted out of its banks and into the yard. I'd say it was a top 5 flood since I've been up here--I've seen it worse. Nothing was damaged, just have even more sticks in the yard.

I still haven't gotten that Cub Cadet 1515 back from the dealer. Everything is good to go other than the blades. They're on backorder. I guess that happens when the machine is 22 yrs old and "in these times"... The guy at the shop said he ordered them 5 weeks ago. Idk about you, but that seems like a long time to me.

Burned out an old Black Walnut stump that was directly in front of the creek side entrance gate of the new garden. Did that bf the flood.

Long story short, crappy weather and not much going on. Oh, and we got a bunch of stuff for da garden. We'll start the plants from seed next month.

Good Saturday Afternoon to All! It's an overcast 71° on the way to 76° today.

We got up at 0500 to drive to a rifle match in Orangeburg, SC. In challenging switching wind conditions we came in first and second place in the Factory category. I was lucky to squeak past Mrs. Gene. This is the first time she has used the rifle she won in a match. I'll enjoy this win as she will be improving with the new rifle.

Would you folks in the Midwest stop sending your weather here to New England?

Calling for 8" of snow over the night.

Lyric snippets. Name the song and artist/group.

I got three passports, a couple of visas
You don't even know my real name.

I got some groceries, some peanut butter
To last a couple of days

Captain asked me if I wanted to go again tomorrow... I said, lemme think about it... he said Free, just bring tip money, what's to think about?

Soooo... going again tomorrow. 😁

Hooked a trigger fish the size of a damn hubcap! Dudes near me were yelling, Holy Sheit! Came off the hook when I lifted it out of the water. 😞

Nah, I'm just a good customer and he's leaving at the end of the month to drive one of the Pilot boats for the port authority. Kid got his captain's license at 23... he's 26 or 27 now. Smart, and one hell of a captain.

Got called into work for a few hours, finished going through two cigar totes. Lots more to go but I ran out of steam. Found lots of things I've not tried yet.

busy day today, shopping and prepping the house for a Super Bowl gathering tomorrow....gonna grill up carne asada, pollo asada and carnitas for tacos and burritos. Got rice and beans...stuff for nachos... Daughter making a pot of chili, SIL bringing chicken wings... SIL's brother bringing garlic noodles. SIL's mother bringing flan. Gonna have lotsa food...

pretty sure my wife and I will revisit our decision to cease hosting these large gatherings. We've done it since the early 2000's when both our kids and their cousins were attending USC and they were in the national championship hunt every year, and my niece was a song girl. We had SC football watch parties every weekend. We've had fewer since we moved to Corona 8 years ago. We only did this one because she wanted to gather up with her brother and his extended family

That's one heck of a piece of yard equipment. Hilly Yard? The equipment dealer service and repair shop at work is the smoking area, I've got a pretty good handle on lead times. Your blades have to be balanced like an airplane prop and the age means they're waiting on a re-manufactured set. Lead times are obscene. It was 9 weeks on our last set and that was a 3 year-old Walker with the backpack. Ask for the certs/data sheet with those blades, otherwise you may be investing in extra deck belts.

The most common repair item in our shop is anything made by Stihl.....shhhh, Stihl has the best dealer margins and warranty reimbursement.
