"We discussed this issue about the mineral rights, and we explained to them, look, we want to be in a joint venture with you — not because we’re trying to steal from your country, but because we think that’s actually a security guarantee," Rubio explained to Canadian journalist Catherine Herridge.

This is gonna sound like I'm being provocative, but I mean it when I say that the above quote sounds exactly like Mafioso talking to a shopkeeper when talking about "providing Protection".

Only thing missing is what the interest rate will be...HA!

The EU nations that gave them military aid are getting paid for it. Wars aren't free. Money on the table for winners and losers. Win and you set the narrative. Lose and hope you don't get screwed like Germany with the Versailles Treaty! All that did was set up WWII. It didn't deter Germany, it impoverished it to the point where they had to fight to get out of the corner.

You call it mafioso, I call it World Bank. The take away from the entire works that made up Game of Thrones was you can takeover the world and secure funding for what you can't accomplish through partnership, attrition and marriage. You dealt with The Iron Bank of Braavos. That has been going on forever throughout Mankind and isn't going to stop. Not anyone's fault but your own for forgetting that someone raised an army, navy, munitions and quartermaster for the troops.

Anyone who knows the real guy's business history behind the Art Of The Deal also knows how he got 90 or 100% discounts when contractors fulfilled their ends of the contract to build/remodel places like Atlantic City Casinos and were looking for payment.

They bought the story of how much the job would change their lives and basically threw all resources into working for Trump's project (thus taking no other customers) which put them in the position to be told "I'll give you 10%, NOW, but not later".

When they would threaten to sue, they were told, correctly, that they didn't have the resources to make it worth the ungodly expense it would take to chase him endlessly through the courts

Most of them never recovered from the "opportunity. It just feels the same as that.

Have you read his book? How to Win Friends & Influence People by Dale Carnegie? Lee Iacocca's books? Den of Thieves by James B. Stewart? Barbarians At The Gate by Bryan Burrough and John Helyar? Their works are very similar to Trump's. To succeed in the Business World you have to be ruthless and be able to ride the wave in the set you're given. That's success. There will be winners and losers. Did you mean to cut out the unions that really were Mafia controlled Trump was forced to deal with? The local municipalities? State regulators? Federal restrictions? What about the entire business model changing under his feet with an economic shamble, wars and other global efforts to thwart American commerce?

Sounds more like you expect fine wine from the sour grapes you're holding.

I expect one who signs a contract to honor it or they should be deemed untrustworthy going forward.
His motivation was not to be a smart and thrifty businessman, I've dealt with many businessmen/women of honor.
He has a different gear that drives him to consider everyone, and I mean EVERYone, a sucker as taught by his father.

I wrote about different lessons learned from my father recently. You may have missed it.

edit: I'd like to add that the biz characteristics you are admiring are fine with me as well...when they are negotiated upfront prior to entering into a legal agreement. Those skills are smart, and admirable in the marketplace we support.

To make changes after one party completes their end of the deal has many other words and names that come to mind. I can't believe someone presenting themself as moral would consider that tactic anything less than...immoral? disgusting, cheating?

I'm certain you'd have words after being conned that aren't complimentary.

I would too if it was written and carried out in "good faith". His casino and airline ventures were far from "good faith" and I'd really expect you to investigate both sides of those. I have. Bet I could find how he was screwed over in developments too! I just DGAF about digging around New York! They wanted to crucify the guy that propped up the New York DNC for more than a decade HARD. It's no wonder he ran for President. Obama insulted the businessman into it! THAT'S what cheeses Lefty off more than anything. People forgot that Chuck U Schumer's first political donation was made by whom?

You're reading the tea leaves after the events they were supposed to prognosticate. Looking backwards one has a real advantage eh? Where's Trump now? What is he doing? What has he already done. Give the 🐴 a rest. You're looking really bad whipping a dead horse you want to ride to the Promised Land.

Serious question: You think Frank wants to ride the Trump horse to the promised land?

Trump was already president. It wasn't that great. I've mentioned several specific, big, things over the last few weeks so no need to🐴 but if Joe Sanostra did that same stuff Republicans would be losing their minds.

I never understood why people "forget" everything when their team wins.

Yes, Trump was President and has a record of it. I believe THAT'S why he was re-elected...to do MORE of what he did before. I don't find Pedo Joe and Trump to be in the same category. Biden WAS tyranny. Trump had to fight his way through the FBI and the MSM to gain any footing that was never going to be given to him. Based on merits alone it's a "Promises Made, Promises Kept" world with me and him.

pay attention.

Robert and I are able to find issues in which we are of one mind.

Yet we are both very aware of how different our inner cores are...but we don't speak for the other, we listen.

Sometimes that finds unity, more often we'd disagree,.. with respect and dignity. I respect that he lives what he talks (walks the walk?) and in return he respects that I get/accept him...even if he is wrong all the time!!!

except this time!

That's laughable on definition of the word. YOU have a viewpoint politically motivated that needs to be rammed down.

Robert can read a book and knows how to research. You, we're all still waiting.

If we're pretending that there are elections & pretending that the "buck stops" with the president, then Trump destroyed this country in 2020--the Sanostra admin dressed in drag and threw gas on the fire.

Imagine for a sec that Joe Sanostra shut the entire country down bc of the flu. Would you ever trust that guy again? Warp Speed?

I thought you were talking about Trumps complete support of Israel with the "promised land" wording, bc there's a list a mile long that wasn't good for America, or America first, during Trumps 1st admin.

It's not your handle that causes so many to ask if you have anger issues. No one is confused by it yet it is interesting how many times you've felt the need to explain it.

It's your behavior toward others.
