The “power” of Shohei Ohtani - my wife will never be called a baseball fan but lately she’s been tuning into Dodgers games just to watch #17. Next thing you know she’ll be buying an Ohtani jersey! The Cardinals fan in me will be appalled! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Low key today.
Fed birds and squirrels.
5+ miles walked (only a block with Kuba).
Trimmed shrubs and talked with my sister for almost two hours.
Heavy weather coming in this evening.

Pretty much the best June we have had here in many moons. Many days never even reached the 100 level which is rare. Only 102 today but the heat is coming back this weekend and could top 110+. On this day in 1990 the temp hit 122 and they had to close the airport because planes were not rated to fly in temps above 120.
As we always say:
"Remember to drink plenty of water and stay indoors between 11AM and November 1st."

Dodgers were absolute geniuses when they signed SO and Yamamoto. Just the revenue they’ll get from Japanese fans will pay for their contracts.

Good Friday Morning to All! It's 83° on the way to 94° today. Clearing out some old computers, some still operating, but just not used. I hate to throw them out, but they are obsolete and not useful for anyone.

An 82 /106 day here. Managed about half of the 5 miles before the sun peaked over the mountains to the east. Had to reprogram the lawn watering system front and back. A car hit the neighborhood transformer and knocked out power for about one hour three days ago and we just noticed nothing was getting watered since. Can't go long without water in these temps.
Happy Saturday folks.

But as far as the car hitting the transformer, wonder how that happened? I mean, it’s not like transformers are small things in the middle of the road. We’ve experienced a more than doubling of traffic deaths this year and more than a few could be attributed to inattentive driving, i.e., the drivers using their mobile devices.

A pic a neighbor took showed a red car tried to make a turn, ran over the curb and hit it. Either drunk or distracted I guess. The electric company had the power back on in about 40 minutes and by the next morning had removed the old one and installed a new one.
