Heather,

Just because someone has metal in their head does not dictate their level of maturity!

as in your comment "grow the f up"

Its no different than tatoos, clothes styles jewlery.

Some people find different things atractive on themselves. Possibly this person could look at your hair style and say "grow the f up"...

Granted... having a chunk of metal in my nose is not my thing... i happen to have one in my eyebrow !! haa haaa.

I do not agree with her attatude,.... i am sure the first lady to wear a big buffon hair do back in the 50's was stared at quite a bit.

Its all about how each person carries themselves with the things they choose to decorate their body with... boobs...rings.. necklaces....beards..... ect.

I am sure you see where i am on this.

I personally dont see why ANY MAN would want to have a big ass hairy beard .. but hey.. to each his own.

Some do different thing, wear different things simply to gain attention... and other just do it for them.

some carry a chip on their shoulder.. and some dont.

We have had this discussion on other threads..

About the big hillibilly looking at me all hard and saying "why the f do you have that thing in your eyebrow.".. i looked at his hillbilly ass and replied "why the f do you have that big ass hairy go tee" he didnt say another word!

He thinks it makes him look all tough and mean... i happen to think mine aids to show off my one and only atractive quality about me... my blue eyes!

Im 34... and still wear it from time to time! Although coming from a man that gets drunk and puts on his motorcycle gear to ride a tricycle.. possibly i do need to "grow up" haa haa.. but hey.. what fun would that be 🙂

I can't help but wonder . . . "Wouldn't that thing feel like you have this big hairy booger up your nose all day?" I hate it when that happens.

I dont like them, I dont like tattos and I especially do not like those when accompined with a mullet hair do!!!!!! I do not like them at all said Sam I am!

Great scene in movies, when Mel Gibson (PAYBACK) pulled the nose ring out of the sleezy delivery boy's noise!

My 1st daughter had a nose-ring at 14 or 15 or so. I was divorced and she lived with her mother. One day I noticed the hole (because she tried to cover it up around me).

I told my daughter to get rid of it or I'd rip it out(in somewhat nicer words than that) and then I told her mother that if she did not ensure the end of that nonsense, I would stop paying child support and that we would end up in our first real custody battle (in somewhat LESS than nicer words...).

I'm pretty old fashioned (as in medieval:-) I don't like any form of self-mutilation. Piercings, tattoos, etc., fall into that category, for me.

My 2nd daughter is now 7 years old... God help her:-)

V, I was referring to the staring, not the metal. If you stick something in your face that isn't supposed to be there, people are going to stare. Either grow up and deal with it (because that is why they put it there in the first place) or take it out.

A friend's daughter has about 1/2 dozen piercings. My daughter thought it was soooo cool.

NOT in my opinion.

Of course, since mine has metal allergies, no piercings will be allowed until after she is off my insurance. (preferable after college)

If my youngest daughter wants to get pierced, I will tell her it's OK as long as I do the piercing.

She has seen my hunting knives...

If she ever wants a tattoo, then I'll have to come up with another tactic...

I don't care for any personal piercings except for ears.

But what the heck.... in my days of youth it was long hair, bell bottoms, and roach clip earrings.

Times change.

Self mutilation for fashion's sake is just stupid. That goes for tatoos as well. I don't care how ancient the tradition, it's stupid. The people who've done this to themselves are possibly not stupid but they certainly have done a stupid thing.
