Thank you, one and all. I really am not picking exclusively on Adroomi, although by this exchange it would certainly seem so. I have addressed similar letters to Bill Maher and Radio Chick (I believe that is the name of the harridan) for comments they have made without realizing that someone would care. I would have spoken out in the same fashion no matter who posted it, no matter whom it was directed at.
In this day and age, where I can no longer properly address my postman as such even though his sex is quite evident, I think it is a hideous injustice that persons with learning disabilities are the last bastion of ridicule. Somehow it was decided that it is bad to think poorly of gay people because they are born that way. How less so a person who is mentally challenged? And yet they are an easy target because there are is no glamour to it.
There is no shame in having learning difficulties. My IQ has been measured in the mid 160's, but I cannot solve mathmatical equations beyond simple division. Ask me to figure a percentage or use a fraction that is not common to cooking and my brain shuts down. In that area my learning is retarded. Am I ashamed of it? Heavens no. I know people who are mathmatical geniuses who can scarcely keep themselves groomed. Every person, even those who can hardly communicate, have something to offer.
Thank you for enduring my pontification. I am backing slowly away from my soap box.
