Tey,

This post was simply about recognizing Pat Tillman. All posts prior to yours had to do with recognizing his selfless decision to serve and the price he paid. That is something worth acknowledging, and no other issues need to be introduced.

Pat Tillman, may he rest in peace.

tey

Maybe I was a little harsh...for that I apologize! We need more like Pat Tillman and less of the Terrell Owens of the world!

Tey,

Anti bull****?

Then perhaps you should post less often.

That's not a dig. That's a fact.

That link's main purpose is to use Pat Tillman's memory as the posterchild for hating the war and Bush's administration.

It doesn't show how his death is being used by the "warmongers". It shows his death being used by those that hate the "warmongers".

As previously mentioned, all the post were respectful until you posted that vile from which you feed.

That's not enlightenment, that's simply classless.

Tillman's parents seem to agree with Tey.....maybe someone should post a link to the story on them.

Honestly something makes me think that perhaps Tillman would have approved, had he known about how he would be used by the government as a toy soldier spectacle.

I give every ounce of respect to Mr. Tillman, but you folks need to quit being so defensive of him. Nobody on this thread is knocking him......they are knocking the government though. Why do you all keep coming to Mr. Tillmans's defense? NOBODY is knocking him.

Personally I feel that Mr. Tillman should be lifted up and praised. I also feel that the liars and cheats that used his good name should be brought down. Why does nobody on this thread seem to care about who they were and what they did?

"Why does nobody on this thread seem to care about who they were and what they did?"

Because that's not the point of the thread. This thread is to honor Pat Tillman. If you want to discuss "who they were and what they did", kindly take it to the miscellaneous board.

Ok this is the part I disagree with and if Tillman really felt that way then why did he pick that timeframe to join up?

flawed perceptions of myself my country and the War on Terror resulted in the disastrous end to my life

Flawed perceptions of himself - I guess he talked personally with the artist? Perceptions of himself had absolutely nothing to do with his death unless he felt he was bullet proof.

On his birthday, somebody posted his picture to remember the man.

A few posts later, Tey decides to piss on that picture.

How? By posting a link to a site that belittle's Mr. Tillman's contributions by calling his perception of himself flawed.

And why did Tey offer this gem?

To make a point.

Tey's quite a hero.

Adroomi, nobody is arguing whether the government abused the Pat Tillman notoriety for their own agenda. That may or may not be true.

But at least it's in the same spirit with which Pat gave up everything to defend his country.

Let's embrace his Dignity. We should not ridicule his self perception. We should not diminish his contribution.

We should not mock his decisions.

Classless.

Again.

I propose that we also not bicker on this thread. What's posted is posted. We can't take it back. Please show respect for his sacrifice. Thanks.

Pat Tillman is honorable.........he definately earned that.
