"Tranny,

Do I need to post every source that lists these numbers? If so, I will:"

Yes please do that. How can you? It's the word on the streets.

Also, I didnt say 70%. Someone else did and I agree. It was a poll taken and mentioned in the news. One fact left out though is this. Those same folks do want us to leave ASAP. But ONLY after their military is ready, and not a moment before that.

When Iraqi's complained to the US Government about the images they see on television of innocent civilians killed by coalition troops, General Mark Kimmitt told them, "Change the Channel." Now that was thoughtful.

Perhaps they should change to one of those channels that American Contractors are paying big dollars to so that they will only publish those bright cheerful stories that our Intel people fabricate?

Tranny,

Even GWB agrees with the numbers on this page:

http://www.iraqbodycount.org/database/

This is a Non-Profit, International Organization, and is purely "middle of the road" and does not choose any sides. It is the best source. It also has a complete database of US and Coalition Forces casualties if you are interested. It is NOT an "anti-war" page....do not mistake it for that.

I never heard the quote you mentioned by the Gen. But I do agree that he could have chosen better words.

But the stories arent made up. The military is paying for real stories to be published, because the news is one sided. Did you know that in Vietnam that we had to do the same thing?

It's not a new tactic. Why dont you give me an example of an false story.

That we went to Iraq because Saddam had weapons of mass destruction is the first one that comes to mind.....

What we were (and are?) doing is paying local media outlets to only run the favorable stories and NOT run the less favorable one's. This is easy to do when the folks that own and operate these papers are poor and need to feed their families too. Generally, it is manipulation of the papers and news to ONLY show good things and not bad. This in fact is the same as lying, since we are hiding the truth from what is supposed to be a free press. A free press is one of the hallmarks of a democracy......what we are telling people that we are there for. Do you see the hypocrisy?

The reason the military pays to have articles run, is because the news reported was only the bad news, never any good news.

And the story "That we went to Iraq because Saddam had weapons of mass destruction is the first one that comes to mind....."

That isnt one of the stories paid for. It's current operations and acomplishments being done NOW.

Tranny,

You can't honestly believe that that is the reason we paid contracted propaganda specialists millions of dollars can you?

It's called winning the hearts and minds of the people, and it's what we do best. It's just a little hard to do after you've dropped bombs on their heads for a couple years.

"You're either for us or against us, and part of the axis of evil."

droomi droomi droomi...tsk tsk tsk. You took two separate quotes and joined them with an "and". Shame on you. He never said that in one phrase.

Drathar,

You are right....I made a mistake. I made the mistake in the mans favor nonetheless (my quote was much more toned down than the real one), however I made a mistake.

Here....I'll correct it. Here is George Bush's ACTUAL quote:

"Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists."

I guess that pretty much says it all don't you think?

Yes, and he was dead right. You either want freedom or you want to be ruled by terrorists. We choose freedom, don't stand in our way.

Axis of Evil was in a State of the Union address...and also dead right.

No...he did NOT say "you either want freedom, or you want to be ruled by terrorists." He made that comment to ask other countries to join us prior to attacking Iraqi. He MEANT you eiter will join us in the unprovoked attack on a country that has nothing to do with terrorists, or you are in support of the terrorists.

That's pretty much being a bully if you ask me.

I didn't say he said it. Attributing quotes to people is your trick. I was simply commenting. I don't call it bullying. I call it defense with a strong offense.
