Probably an Ashton Aged Maduro.

Don't get me wrong, it was good. Just not THAT good. With what they go for around here I had myself convinced that it was going to be the best cigar ever. I guess the Oliva 'O' maduros have spoiled me. Though the LGC Serie R maddie and Onyx Reserve also score higher in my book.

Excalibur Prensado. Tried two, thought they were bland and uninteresting. I was very dissapointed......mostly in myself for ordering a box without having tried them first.

I have a few that were hyped so I bought them with eager anticipation only to be very disappointed :
HDM dark sumatra - ammonia taste
CAO Maduro - o.k , but not what I expected
CAO Brazilia- again , o.k but wouldn't smoke again unless given to me
H.Upmann coronas - Yuk!might as well have lit up a dutch masters

harleydude --- let the first three sit awhile, the ammonia taste is a sign the cigar is still in its 'sick' (too green) period.

... they will improve.

The last one ... I agree.

Steve,

re: Upmann

A great favorite among aficionados, the history of this brand began around 1840, when Herman Upmann, banker and almost fanatical cigar enthusiast, offered to open a branch of his family-owned bank in Havana Cuba.

In 1844, he (not surprisingly) invested in a cigar factory, and from then until 1922, the company traded as both a bank and a cigar business. In that year, both companies failed, and a British firm, J. Frankau & Co., saved the brand and ran the cigar factory until 1935. It was then sold to the newly-founded Menendez y Garcia Company. And so it was that a legend was re-born.

I thought Id LOVE an Opus-X. When I finally got one,it wasnt as good as I had hoped for. Maybe all the "Hype" about these made me have unrealistic expectations. Or maybe I got a Fake. Who knows. Just My opinion.

Trilogy Native Cameroon: normally I love Cameroon wrapped cigars. These are crap.

Perdomo reserve No. 4 in rosado: I think that I smoked some of these. At least I lit them and drew smoke through them, but as far as flavour goes- nothing.

Padron: yawn.
