I'm glad they are going after Edwards, and I'm glad Vermeil is gone.

I think he'll be a good coach for this team. With the exception of this years disaster (injury plagued, but if the Pats could survive the jets could have at least put up a fight) his teams have been solid, and at times have overacheived.

I think its a good choice by King Carl.

in five seasons with the Jets, he led the Jets to the playoffs three times and a division title in 2002.

How many times have the Chefs been in the playoffs in the last 10 years? How many times did they win a game?

I think he'll do fine

As a life-long Jet fan KC is more than welcome to Edwards. He can't manage the clock and really is not a very good XXXX and OOOO's kind of coach. He is a great Rah Rah guy but unless he surrounds himself with a good knowledgable staff the Chiefs will be in the same boat as the Jets SINKING!!!

WOW BOBRQ there seems to be an echo from post #7 to yours. I think these Chiefs fans are very the glass is half full kinda guys.

If he was worth a poo they would have asked for more than a 4th rounder.

Beat,

Lets see who has the better team next year..Chiefs or Vikings, I will bet on the Chiefs right now having a better record than the Vikings, who need to change their team name to the "Loveboats"!

Beat -

The reason for only a fourth rounder - its better than nothing and they had come to an impasse anyway... ie the Jets didn't renegotiate with him (2 years left on the contract) and he was leaving anyway. King Karl played chicken with the Jets and won. They wanted more.

But in the end it looked like they could not work together anymore and he was leaving and they (the Jets) would get nothing for him. Karl parted with the 4th round pick to make sure he did not hit the open market. With 8+ coaching jobs open the market is/will be diluted. The 4th round pick was just insurance.

We'll see what happens here, I dunno if he will be good or bad.... if he keeps many of the coaches already in place in KC he'll be fine.

true charlie...

But thats the exception not the rule. The Cheifs are awful at drafting. (Ryan Simms, Junior Silivavee...and many others that are pretty forgetable)

As a side note, I think Jared went to UNI - where I got my undergrad.... home of Kurt Warner, Deidric Ward, Bryce Paup (I think)etc.

They lost in the championship game this year. The last time they got that far they lost to Marshall. Any guesses who Marshall had that torched them?
