Tey,
I feel badly for you. Your anger is obvious, and it has affected how you view the world around you.
You see everything as Us vs. Them, and you're always on the losing side.
I've got a very close friend who was born in Portugal. He obviously speaks Spanish, with English as his second language. He's fairly dark skinned, and can be very easily mistaken for a Mexican.
I asked him if he was EVER called a "****". Nope.
I asked him if he ever thought he was looked down to due to his speech and nationality. He said "only once" and he chaulked it up to stupidity.
He grew up in Southestern Massachusetts, but spent a good deal of time in Boston when he was in his late teens/early 20s. Boston has a reputation as a "racist" town.
Yet, he's one of the happiest people I know.
I don't doubt that you've been met with many negative feelings from those around you. Look what you stir up on these boards.
The point is this:
The life you lead creates your own destiny. Your constant negativity breeds hatred more than any off-colored remark made in jest or to make a point. The fact that you are so quick to pull the race card proves to me that many of the so-called bigots you meet are likely just people whom you don't like and therefore you label them as such.
I would never claim to be able to prove this.
But it's painfully obvious when I read virtually anything from you.
You really need to lighten up.
PS: defending illegals is not the same as lightening up...
PPS: smoking a nice Casa Torano is a good start.
