My friend Steve came over with a couple of Graycliff torps, (vintage something). White and gold band. Real nice but too pricey.

Had a fifth of Bacardi 151 (one of my favs). Not all of the rum. We wanted to live to see 2003.

Read the forum, bought some sticks, went to bed about 10:30. Turned the T.V. off and fell asleep at 11:47.
Glad to see you all made it without me. Looking forward to talking cigars with you all in the comming year.

Tomorrow morning I have to go help Steve throw out his 32" T.V.

Happy New Year to all. Anthony

Donna wasn't feeling too well last nite and we went to bed early. Before dinner I had a LGC Double Corona nattie on the patio. I know it's a good cigar, but I really prefer LGC maddies. Happy NEW YEAR!

JR, you know the kinds of cigars I like. Would I like the La Excepcion?

I think so, Lee. With the caveat that you will need to age them awhile. I particularly like the Manuel Zavala. The truth is, though I like the MNCs better and they're cheaper.

Good! I have most of a box of MNC Double-C's in the 'gloo. Maybe I should break one out for my morning smoke this fine New Year's Day. But this is the wrong thread. Slim has the New Year's day smoke thread. See ya over there.

I spent New Years with my ol’ Army buddies at Ft Knox…

In order:
-1941 Pre-Embargo Gurkha, w/Makers Mark (Smooth combo)
-PAM, w/Makers Mark (ditto)
-Gurkha Perfecto #2 w/Coors Light (you can guess how I was feeling at this point by my drink selection!)
-Oliva Grand Maduro w/lord only knows, I can’t remember!

Overall, I had a great time like many of you did.

Happy New Year All, Joel

Joel, I thought you were gonna smoke a Gurkha 1950 for New Year's. I wanted to find out how you liked it.

I had in my humidor and purchased recently a selection of cigars I was planning to light up for New Years Eve/New Years Day. Some of the selection I was toying with was

Two Opus X's Sort of a Cornoa Size
AF 8-5-8
La Gloria Cubana Sieres R #4
Punch Champion
Indian Tabac Cammeron Legend Gorilla.

Those were the six I had planned for those two days. What did I smoke....

New Years Eve late afternoon my one and only cigar for that was the La Gloria Cubana, and On New Years itself I just wasn't in the mood. I've been trying to get rid of my Acid Def Sea's I smoked one of the three I have left and later on I had a 5 Vegas Double Corona. A very unimpressive selection compared to what I had lined up.

Lowman, we actually smoked 1941s. The place where I purchase them were out of the 1950s on Monday, so I had to dig into my stash, that I was saving (not that they need anymore aging). But, the Gurkha was outstanding, lasted 2+ hours, and finished very well, could’ve used a roach clip to finish it up. Not quite as full-flavored as I expected, but it was very smooth and rich.
