Karma or unconcious revenge?
Anytime I get the wife PO'd, she threatens to do unmentionable things to my cigars.
Tough break? I sure hope it is not a total loss.
The courts would probably consider the event second degree cigar-ocide.

Sad story. Some pretty good suggestions above for salvaging the salvagable, if any. The only revenge you should consider is the free pass you now have to make some serious purchases.

If the wrappers are already flaking, there's not much that can be done. That usually takes years' worth of no humidity and heat. In just a few months I doubt that your cigars cannot be saved. Once rehumidified, they could be significantly milder or not appreciably different. When you humidify, be sure that you don't use PG. Your leaf will drink anything liquid you put into that confined space. As was suggested above, slowly rehumidify. Daily, check the humidity of your ambient environment. In some areas, during warm months, there is enough RH to leave the humidor open for rehumidification. Slowly rehumidify. It may take a year or longer.


My experience: A few years ago I bought a box of Torano Nicaraguan Selection Presidentes. I removed the shrink wrap to look over the cigars and then placed it on a shelf, planning on putting it in a cooler kept at 68RH. I forgot all about it and it sat on the shelf for a year. The cigars dried out but the wrappers were intact. I carefully removed all cello and placed the cigars back in the cedar box they came in with one change. I drilled several holes in the top, bottom, and sides of the box before putting the cigars back in. I put the box at the very bottom of a cooler far from any oasis charged with distilled water. Two years later the cigars smoked fine...milder than one might want, but still very tasty.

I'm sure you'll be able to revive your cigars if you have patience.
