After careful consideration and review of the posts on the MISC board, there are a number of subjects and comments which should now be considered “off limits”. I.e., “THIS HAS GONE FAR ENOUGH!!” I don’t want anyone to get their panties in a wad, so here’s the list of things which MUST be avoided.
1. Politics. No political discussions, posts, comments, inferences, references, etc… Please note, this includes references to candidates, presidents present and past, congressmen, etc… Also, PLEASE! We’re coming up on an election, no comments on the candidates as this could be construed as incendiary by “the whiners” and their undergarments may end up in the aforementioned undesirable location.
2. Military. This ties in with politics, but is slightly different. No postings or references regarding military action, support, lack of support, hyper support, questioned support, athletic support, or any type of support. This includes, but is not limited to:
a. Support Groups
b. Support Hose
c. Support of terrorism, etc…
3. Religion. While there hasn’t been much on this subject, it is clearly radioactive and MUST be avoided. Also, there should be no references to God period as this may be offensive to atheists. I.e.,
a. God Bless our Troops.
b. OMG (Oh My God)
c. And the ever popular, GD should all be avoided.
Please note, (a) actually violates both discussing religion AND the military and should be expressly avoided!
4. Sexism. This is a new one, but many of the posts on the Pics board are sexual in nature and therefore CLEARLY off limits. This could be construed as harassment by many and obviously offensive. I.e., the girl in the car? Come on folks! How many women could be easily offended by this sort of post? I would never want to offend a woman with my post.
5. Bashing cigars. This is a problem because some folks enjoy them, i.e., Rick and his Frogs. So therefore, the term “Dog Rocket” should here to fore be stricken from our vernacular. It would be very un-PC to make someone feel bad that they were smoking inferior sticks. So we’ll all praise every smoke.
6. Bashing repeated posts, i.e., cello on/cello off? Etc… These should all be tolerated with a thin-lipped smile. Otherwise, the poster could be offended, and we certainly don’t want that.
I’m sure there are many more potentially offensive subjects and actions that could be taken, please feel free to add to this list because for the love of, oh wait a minute, jeepers creepers, golly gosh, we don’t want to offend anyone.
Oh, one last thing, no “disguised” profanity. I.e., He!!, F*cking, b!tch, etc… This could be offensive and by all means, we don’t want to offend anyone.
Please comply with these recommendations and I’m sure we’ll all be much happier. Much more board, but much less offended.
