I'm off work next week with an outpatient sinus surgery on Monday. No big deal. However, I can't smoke a cigar for a week. Since I don’t stock the OMG sticks, my wife wants to buy a premo stick at the shop for the Sunday prior.. but here's the question.

Smoke a premium on Sunday before the op (Kinda a "goodbye for a week" smoke.)
OR,
save the good one for when I am allowed to smoke agan? (A nice "welcome back" smoke.)

Couldn’t convince her to buy both.

Smokeum if you got um. When you get back from that surgery, it will be more than a week... Good luck. My wife had that surgery. It took "several weeks" but she was much better off as a result.

... smoke the premie PRIOR to the surgery ...

- I've had sinus surgery twice - FESS 1/2/3 Series with rhino & septoplasm (sp) ...

- you'll have cords of cotton shoved up your nose for awhile afterwards ... and - you won't be able to taste the cigar ... not to mention that it'll burn like hell if you accidentally get some into your nasal passages ...

Good arguements for smoking before guys! However, my experience says the best pleasure is one deferred and then savored.

I've got to vote for before. Why wait?

Well, if your recovery is bad (and I'm not wishing it on you, but just go with me here for a minute), the wife may feel so sorry for you that she may just go out and by that 2nd primo stick to make you feel better...don'tcha think?

I see it playing out thusly:

1] You and the missus pick out an incredibly mouth watering primo...and at the same time, you point out yet another that you'd do anything to get your hands on...

2] You enjoy 1st said primo...all the while reminding her of the 'other' one's name back at the cigar shop...

3] You go in for the surgery...once again, mentioning how great it'd be if you could have that 2nd said primo when your time comes...of course this isn't your main topic of conversation considering the circumstances...just planting the seed so to speak...

4] Surgery and recovery go well...as planned...

5] You fain a bit more than necessary around her...all the while stating your cravings for that stick...and how you'd feel so much better if you were back in the swing of things...

6] Wifey-poo, being kind, considerate, and wanting nothing but pleasure for you, decides to go and retrieve said 2nd primo for you...

7] You enjoy it...as expected...

8] You then in turn take her out for a wonderful dinner...since you're feeling better and she's catered to your every whim whilst you were laid up...right!?

OK. I'm convinced. I'll go for the "before", though I think I may attempt the double-play idea. She will see through me, of course, but it might still work.
