I tried one of these today gifted to me by Low.
This premium has got to be the worst I have ever had the unpleasent pleasure of smoking. The only taste I could get out of it was kinda like burnt wood! Like chewing on the end of a bamboo kabob skewer after it comes off the grill.
No offense Low as I really enjoyed the rest of the smokes you sent.
Anyone else have this same experience with these?

I dont remember them being THAT bad. They were just mediocre smokes to me.

What xaigoxx said. I unfortunately bought two boxes of the Serie V when they first came out and they just have not lived up to the hype. Not a bad cigar but not as good as the price would imply. Best thing going for them is that they look great. Now if the looks only translated into a good smoke:-)

I've only tried one I recieved in a trade. I thought it was an okay cigar,just not worth the moola. Much better smokes out there for the money. X

I have to agree with turmberry and X. I bought a box when they first came out also. They are beter now and a nice cigar but not worth the price. If you want a good Monte go Cuban.

I had one of two the other day that I got in trade a while back. Seemed like the flavor profile is similar to some cubans. Probably what they were aiming for. However it lacks the richness and depth of a Habano. I agree, just a good smoke.

Oh! And the construction was good. Burned straight and true. No corrections.

Sorry about that Rob. I thought they were a pretty good smoke. A little costly though... But I enjoy them...

I too would classify this as just an OK smoke. Maybe I got a bad one, seemed really harsh from start to finish!

The domestic Monte's that mature well are the Killamanjaros and the CDA's. I have a box of CDA's that have 2 years on them, and I had one the other night while watching the Lightning get ripped off. The cigar was great, but the bad calls on the ice...that's a WHOLE other story!
