Guys,

I have a bachelor's to prepare for and was wondering considering that I'm a college student, what is the best box, In Your Opinion, under $100. Obviously, we should use CI as a price reference.

Thanks guys,

ahh the innuendos...probably would have to consult with adroomi on that one...

I would have to say the "best box under $100" would be Camacho Diploma, Antano 1970, Fuente Sungrown Double Chateau, El Rico Habano, Padron 5000/3000/2000/Delicias/Churchill/ maduro, Aroma de Cuba Churchills, El Rey del Mundo Reserva Salado,...for starters.

So as not to disappoint you or your tastes, figure it out on your own. The disparaging comments that find their way here have made it clear that I won't be sharing what I like with others. I know what I like, you know what you like.

good answer doc. Start by getting a five pack. Or a sampler. Tastes are so different. My likes may be your dislike. I like to sample and trade thats what makes gars so much fun

Irish, your taste will change, sometimes it may seem like day to day. After a while, you will come back to cigars you hated and love them. You will come back to cigars you loved and hate them.

What cigars do you like right now? That might help someone point you to your next favorite smoke.

No offense intended, Dr M. ;o)

Spend your $100 on samplers and 5 packs. That way you have a variety to choose from and can try more stuff. If you buy a box, that's the only thing you have to smoke. OK for some, but I like to switch around depending on the mood. If you are buying to share with your buddies, make them pitch in their share of a box.

If I read your post correctly you are buying for numerous other folks? You might survey their likes/dislikes. Samplers might be the way to go.

PS: Irish if your survey shows the folks are not of refined tastes; I have a large inventory of low and medium priced smokes that I could send you a list of if you are interested. Might save you some of that book money. Fatshotbud AOL (dot) com.

IG,

At my wedding, I bought Robusto size cigars. Remember that there may be a lot of people, who don't usually smoke cigars, lighting up at the party. I just didn't want to see the ashtrays full of 1/2 smoked churchills.

BTW, I had a box of Ashton Magnum.

PS... The Ashtons were over $100, but I just wanted to comment about robustos...

I like the idea of multiple fivers. Makes the idea of selecting fun.

But Padron #5000 would be my choice or recommendation, probably the Maduro.

Onyx Reserves and you have money left over! Padrons are a good choice, as the Oliva O's.....all a matter of taste.
