What's the best Humidor? I have about 350 cigars and would like to put them in a decent looking/ working humidor (not in a cooler~ their present home). What about the "Antietam". Any suggestions from those who actually have, what they are recommending? Thanks

Sis n law got me a Daniel Marshall from a shop going out of business. She paid less than half price. Holds about 20-30 smokes. Nice tight seal and holds humidity like a champ. Only need to recharge (1/2 teaspoon h2o) about every week1/2. Not bad for Arizona. I move what I want to smoke from my rubbermaidadors into this desktop.

I have had an Antietam for about 6 months now and am pretty happy with it. The way the door mates to the cabinet could be a little tighter than it is but I have a Cigar Oasis Extend active humidification unit in it which has no problem holding the RH at the level I want.

Ditto on the Antietam. It is a great cabinet for a decent price. Get a cigar oasis with it, of course, and I'd recommend putting an oshkosh humidifier in the bottom. I do that and it seems to keep some pressure off the cigar oasis, as the c.o. has to work pretty hard.

How long does your c.o. cartridge work, turnberry? Curious to hear.

If you go with the Antietam, pack it with boxes. Keeps the humidity more stable than loose cigars, in my opinion. And it looks good with the glass door.

I have two that I bought at Swap Meets and they are great! Also have a couple of others, but it is fun to find one at a swap meet and one of them had an Opus X Torp, and a couple of other premiums in it for total price of $5. Could not pay the guy fast enough and get out of there with the treasure. I have had the Opus in humidor for almost 6 months and it looks fine now, but was a little dry when I made the deal.

Anyway, I have the R/J Vintage 8-Drawer Presentation Humidor. The drawers each hold about 25 cigars. I use 2 foam credos and it keeps the humidity at 69/70. It is a really nice looking outfit. In fact, when I got it my wife made me put it in the living room....69

The CO Extend is a modified version of the regular Cigar Oasis unit done by Bob Staebell. Does not use the regular cartridge but is very slickly mated to a larger capacity rectangular reservoir (no foam insert) which you fill with straight distilled water. There is a wicking filter from the reservoir to the fan unit which I think he recommends changing maybe once a year. In addition, he has modified the upper fan unit to remove some of the restrictions to get a higher capacity airflow.

In other words, it is a higher capacity turbocharged version of the standard CO. I have it placed in the bottom/back of my Antietam and is the only humidity source I need. The unit doesn't seem to have to work very hard.
