I've decided to come out of the woodwork. I've been a 'closet' cbid newbie for about six months. I read all the posts and bid on some lots, so I figured it's time to take the big leap.....

You see, I've learned a lot about cigars from many of you on this site, and the information found here has been very helpful ever since I took my first puff. I figured the best way to introduce myself would be to give a loud 'Thank You' to everyone who contributes here. I'll also say that all of you have a hand in making me the best newbie that I can be.....And that means a lot. Thanks.

P.S. - While my nose is up everyone's butt, I might as well add in a question: Is it wrong if I've enjoyed just about every cigar that I've tried so far? Maybe it's the newbie in me, but if that's wrong, then I don't want to be right....

Among those who are blessed - you are MOST blessed to have only smoked cigars you have enjoyed. Do a search on this site for "dog rocket" and you will meet the "other half".

Here is hoping that your adventure in cigars leads you to sample only cigars you have liked - and maybe only occasionally - cigars you have liked a little less.

But welcome - the Brotherhood and Disterhood of the Leaf is one of the finest groups around ---even if we are barred from practicing our art in almost every restaurant in NYC !!!

Welcome Johnny. You are indeed fortunate but be warned your palate will change. I keep alot of variety because I find my tasteBUDs change all the time. Some smokes are only appealing to me depending on time of day and activities involved in. Like I am smoking an Indian Tabac Boxer now and it is lovely but, in the AM with my morning coffee - forget it. Again welcome aboard, I hope you enjoy the folks here as much as me.

While I have not been lurking near as long as Johnny; there is definitely some good info on the boards. And I definitely agree with Bud. I have some cigars that have been in the dor for about 8 months that my buddy Turbo(yeah the one who knows what cat urine tastes like) turned me onto. I disliked them big time. Went back to one over the weekend and was quite surprised.

Tried one of the Don Tomas special edition maduros that were out there for 20 for $25. Well worth a buck+ each.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Just to clarify, I've been smoking cigars in $2-7/stick range since I've started - eventually I'll give higher and lower priced sticks a try, but all in good time. There's huge variety of cigars between the $2-7 range, and I think all the cigars in that range have something to offer someone (regardless of price). Saying all that, I have yet to find a cigar that blows my doors off, if you know what I mean. Maybe a more expensive stick would do it, or maybe a Bad Frog (might literally blow my doors off....and the tires...and the hood), but I am anxious to find cigar 'nirvana'. Like I said, all in good time. Luckily, I'm a 'glass is half full' guy (or, as an engineer - the glass is twice as big as it needs to be), so I keep enjoying my smokes until I find my princess.... and all her beautiful friends.

Try the Jim Belushi backed (he has probably never smoked one) Lone Wolf and you will discover a cigar that will change your opinion of "enjoyed them all"!

Welcome and remember cello off, unless you are with the cello on crowd and smoke em while you can.

But, if you DO decide to go with the cello on bunch, remember that almost all of us DO agree that it's best to take the cello off before lighting the cigar ...
