first do the salt check to get a reading.

remove batteries and cover. you will need one of the tiny 5 or 6 screw drivers sets with a phillips head to take the thing apart and a flat head to turn the pot adjustment screw.

inside you will see an adjustment screw on the pot. the pointer is a tiny screw driver. 1/4 turn clockwise or counter clockwise and recalibrate. that will tell you which direction the pot adjustment screw needs to be turned and about how much. 1/4 turn at a time and reassemble and recalibrate. if you get within 1% or 2%, close enough.

if you don't want to go inside the meter, where is your sense of daring.

in that case leave it alone and you will know the true humidity based on the difference between 75% and what you learn from the salt test.

Is this on the Csonka or does it refer to all digital units?

Rick, is it your contention that all digital units are adjustable? Are you contentious? Has this been on you steam of consciousness? Are you conscientious?

contention. no, but it seems as though all should have an adjustment, otherwise how would the numbers change?

contentious
consciousness
conscientious

you left out contemptious, but then again we are not talking politics.

what made you ask?

i have been meaning to post this, but i wanted to wait until i had reason to open the hygrometer.

I have both the Csonka and the Salvatore units and neither one has adjustable "pots"...69

have you opened them to look inside?

if there is no pot you can find, you can always use the "it's off by this much" option.

Rick, thanks for the info, it's very helpful as always! Sometimes I just can't help consonance, it’s my nature. 🙂

Consonance is not in my nature. I am partial to vowels. Nice job, Rick.
